Trayvon MartinĀ“s legal troubles reportedly covered up by police
The Washington Times ^ | 07/01/2013 | Joseph Cotto

On a cold late February evening in 2012, unarmed seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin was fatally shot by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman.

Zimmerman claims he killed Martin in self-defense.

Since then, Martin’s history of truancy, firearms-related issues, and marijuana use, among other things, has come to light.

After a special prosecutor was commissioned, Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder and is currently standing trial.

Evidence indicates that Zimmerman suffered head injuries the night Martin died, though exactly how and why remains a mystery. What can be certain, however, is that the shooting’s aftermath has been highly polarizing.

It has also drawn considerable attention to the oft-overlooked central Florida port city of Sanford, where the shooting took place.

head injuries the night Martin died, though exactly how and why remains a mystery...

Funny how the bloody head picture appears to be an exact image of a concrete edge, with the upper part of his head on the sidewalk and the lower part on the grass.

I noticed the same thing - “port city”, indeed. There are some recreational boat docks on Lake Monroe, I guess.

Of course. The left needed to remind us that we are all deeply racist and there is no hope for us.

That’s why the fake prosecutor will attempt to slam Zim in jail for life. Or worse.

He had some minor injuries on his knuckles that would be consistent with him beating on Zimmerman.

The black mortician that prepared him for burial lied about those injuries in a press conference with TradeMark©’s parents. Interestingly enough this funeral director is a past president of the local NAACP.

I’ll bet they have lots of carports, and perhaps an airport.

Or maybe he’s thinking like AlGore...Sanford is a future, post-global warming port city.

and, have there been any reports that T. Martin suffered any cuts, bruises, broken noses, etc? Wouldn’t the autopsy show signs that he had been attacked/beaten if Zimm was the aggressor?

Evansville IN is designated a “Port City”.

Access to shipping lanes carries more weight in that designation than does proximity to the sea.

Did Trayvon have any injuries other than his gunshot wound?

Yep, Tray Tray's knuckles showed signs of taking quite a beating from Zimmerman's nose.

No,the state has clearly shown how those injuries were sustained...the concrete paths of that complex repeatedly attacked GZ,striking him both on the face and the back of the head.It was an unprovoked attack...kinda like when and SUV hits a telephone pole,it has a mind of its own.

Sanford was founded originally because it is at the head of navigation for the St. Johns River. Used to be a big deal, not so much nowadays. Don’t know why the author put it in.

"...Evidence indicates that Zimmerman suffered head injuries the night Martin died, though exactly how and why remains a mystery..."

I have tried and tried, but I can't figure it out, either. It obviously wasn't because he was having his head smashed on the edge of a concrete sidewalk, so I am completely baffled by this.

I wonder if we will ever find out. It will forever have to remain a mystery, like the OJ Simpson trial or the Rosenberg trial. Nobody will ever know. /s

My guess is after this “trial” goes soooooo poorly for the prosecution, they will make an offer to reduce the charge to man slaughter hoping that the jury will indeed find him guilty. If the defense doesn’t bite, its a roll of the dice for them. Guilty of manslaughter in Florida will still get Zim 30 years. My guess is he will “walk”.

I would think a close up shooting with the actors in the positions Zimmerman claims would have some tell-tale anges and other physical evidence would either back up or refute the claim.

I agree. It’s probably not very easy to shoot someone who is astride you and beating you up (this is the least credible part of Z’s defense, though I’m open to the possibility that it went down as he says due to other evidence.

I’d expect to see an odd angle, (it has been reported as “point blank”) and even powder/burn/residue on Z’s clothing.

There's a port facility on the St John's River. Don't think it gets much use these days. Port of Sanford website.

Actually, I heard that the ballistics and powder pattern showed that Martin had to be stooped to his front (bending) and that the cloth of the shirt was at least some distance from resting on his skin as it would have been had he actually been on his back on the ground.

Port city of Sanford? Sanford is 30 from the east coast.

Perhaps Sanford a center of the "dessert wine" industry?

You could be right but if I was the defendant I’d tell my lawyer “No way, fight that proposal.I *know* what I did.Life versus thirty years,I’ll take the chance”.I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know how that might works. It may be that if the state proposes a lesser charge the court may be able to allow it in spite of the defendant’s strong opposition. The reverse may also be true. The defense proposes a lesser charge, the prosecutor opposes it but the court allows it regardless.
