Alec Baldwin Goes Anti-Gay
FrontPage Magazine ^ | July 2, 2013 | Ben Shapiro

Thirty years ago, famed TV cook Paula Deen reportedly used the n-word. This came out in a court filing by Lisa Jackson, a former employee who alleged that Deen had made racially insensitive remarks in her presence. In her deposition, Deen told lawyers that she had used the n-word once “when a black man burst into the bank that I was working at and put a gun to my had. I didn’t feel real favorable towards him.” She said she may have used the word since, but only when repeating conversations between blacks who had used the word.

The result: Deen’s career is in flames. Her publisher released a statement saying that her new cookbook would be canceled, despite the fact that in the aftermath of the controversy, it had shot up to #1 on Amazon.com. The Food Network announced that Deen’s show would not be renewed when her contract ended. Smithfield, a pork producer, said they would terminate their partnership with Deen, since “it is important that our values and those of our spokespeople are properly aligned.” That alone will cost Deen at least $1 million. Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Novo Nordisk, Ceasers Entertainment, and QVC also ended or suspended their relationships with Deen.

For using a racial slur thirty years ago.

Too bad she’s not a liberal. If she were, she wouldn’t have lost a single deal. That’s no exaggeration – that’s a fact. How else to explain why Alec Baldwin, who recently sent out a string of anti-gay tweets, has not received blowback from a single advertiser?

Earlier this week, a British journalist, George Stark, wrote a piece about how Baldwin’s wife Hilaria had tweeted recipes during the funeral of James Gandolfini. Baldwin didn’t like that article. He didn’t like it at all. So in a series of tweets, he fired back, redneck style: “Someone wrote that my wife was tweeting at a funeral. Hey. That’s not true. But I’m gonna tweet at your funeral. George Stark, you lying little b—-. I am gonna f%#@ you up. I want all of my followers and beyond to straighten out this f—ing little b—-, George Stark. My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this f—ing trash. If put my foot up your f—ing ass, George Stark, but I’m sure you’d dig it too much. I’m gonna find you, George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna f—…you…up.”

For this anti-gay rant – and yes, the words “toxic little queen,” the repeated use of the word “bitch,” and the implication that a gay man would enjoy a “foot up his f—ing ass” are anti-gay – the penalties have been zilch. Something said today, not 30 years ago. In fact, the media went into full spin mode to cover up the actual content on the tweets. The Today Show on NBC covered the tweets, but edited the anti-gay material out. Actually, Matt Lauer sided with Baldwin. CNN buried the anti-gay content, too.

Why? As John Nolte of Big Hollywood explains, “Alec Baldwin is a well-known Democrat and supporter of President Obama’s. He also starred in the low-rated NBC sitcom ’30 Rock,’ until it was cancelled last year.”

Baldwin has already non-apologized. He said, “The idea of … that being something that people thought is homophobic … a queen to me has a different meaning. It’s somebody who’s just above.” He continued, “I know women that act queeny, I know men that are straight that act queeny, and I know gay men that act queeny. It doesn’t have to be a definite sexual connotation, or a homophobic connotation. To me those are people who think the rules don’t apply to them.”

He also said that he would have moved from New York a long time ago if he hated homosexuals. Which still doesn’t explain “foot up the ass” or “bitch.” But the media bought it, because Baldwin is a lefty.

Baldwin is a repeat offender. In 2007, he left a message to his daughter that went public, in which he called her a “rude, thoughtless little pig.” No consequences. Earlier this year, a photographer alleged that Baldwin had used racial slurs against him during a confrontation. No consequences. In 2008, Baldwin was kicked off a flight after refusing orders to stop playing with his cell phone. No consequences.

At least Anderson Cooper of CNN got it right: “Why does #AlecBaldwin get a pass when he uses gay slurs? If a conservative talked of beating up a ‘queen’ they would be vilified.”

But the hypocrisy of the media left knows no bounds. Neither does the hypocrisy of the gay rights advocacy groups like the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), which issued this statement of exoneration:

“Alec Baldwin is making it clear that the intent behind his tweets does not excuse his language, especially at a time when there were 11 incidents of violence against gay men in New York City just last month. As we all work to end such senseless acts of violence, allies like Baldwin are right to use these moments to reinforce support for the community and LGBT equality …. Alec Baldwin has worked with several organizations and added his voice to a campaign by Fight Back NY to encourage the State Senate to pass marriage equality with out actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson. He also had a guest role on Will & Grace and played a gay character in the 2006 Off-Broadway revival of ‘Entertaining Mr. Sloane.’”

Well, that answers that. Pay off the gay advocacy groups and do their bidding, and you’re free to use whatever language you want. If only Paula Deen had known that, she would have joined the NAACP years ago.

Can’t she self-publish or find another publisher? It’s a sure thing for someone.

Why do a lot Freepers always say how Democrats are more racist than conservatives. Then, when a racist Democrat comes along, they defend her, and clasp her to their bosom. Makes no sense to me.

A black person holds a gun to your head during a robbery.
There can be many expletives used but I would imagine the N word may slip out!
This is not about racisim but the persecution of a person who said something under duress!
I’m sure she should have said something nice to the robber and talked about some ribs and such to make the fine gentleman feel at home.
Alec Baldwin no need for comment!

what’s the attitudinal difference between a potty mouth and a “queen”? zip, zilch, nada

and which one is Bladwin? it makes no difference

so, its really a case of the pot calling the kettle black for Baldwin

Paula Deen had her show cancelled because she said the N word thirty years ago, while Alec Baldwin had HIS show cancelled last year because few people watched it and its ratings were low.

What can Anderson Cooper and other angry gays do to a loser like Alec Baldwin who has already lost everything? He doesn’t have a best-selling book out that can be cancelled or that gays can boycott, or any major product deals with companies like WalMart.

If an entertainment company should ever be foolish enough to sign Alec Baldwin up to do another TV show or movie, THEN the angry gays he’s insulted can do a ‘’Paula Deen’’ on him and take everything away.

The article made an error, in the Paula Deen has been an Obama supporter, supporting his campaign in 2008.

No, she is shown on a recent video using the N word, using a chocolate eclair in an obscene manner and planning a wedding were blacks are the “servants”.
She is white trash and an Obambot...

Yes, the double standard is alive and well.

Insider trading - we can’t do it but congress critter can.
saying the N-word - whites can’t say it but blacks can.
saying the C-word - blacks can say that and it is not the same as whites saying the N-word - huh what?
ruling by executive orders - the RATS can do it but the republicans can’t

I wonder what it would be like to live in Australia?
