The goal posts cannot be moved in self defense on case by case but somehow
this court and the MSM have managed to do just that. They keep moving the goal posts.

Exactly the same for my late father - he was a monster of a man - a Korean War vet and State Police - battling in the Detroit riots. He had a very large stash of knives that he took from rioters in hand-to-hand combat. One in particular that I remember was a folding knife that locked and had an 18" handle with the same length of blade. It was effectively a folding machete.

Needless to say, my father was deeply disturbed by having to fight against Americans on US soil. He was never the same after a year of duty in war-torn Detroit.

Now, the rabble rouser lives in the White House. We got to this lowest of levels by allowing the least amongst us to believe the statists who preach fatalism and permanent dependency (slavery... ironically).

There are a lot of people — not on Free Republic, obviously — but around the country and around the world who are hoping for a guilty verdict in this case, even though they know damn well that Zimmerman is innocent. They hope that by throwing Zimmerman to the wolves, they can forestall the violence that would accompany his acquittal.

Here’s a tip, folks. There will be riots anyhow. Get that dialed in now.

THERE. WILL. BE. RIOTS. ANYHOW.

Oh, they’ll call it something else. The media will bend over backwards to call it celebrations that got out of hand. They will blame the exuberance of lively mischievous youth. They will lament that some bad apples “took advantage” of the carnival atmosphere... none of that will change a single damn thing.

They want to riot. They are looking forward to it. Targets are being preselected for looting and arson. Scores will be “settled”. It’s going to be a modern day hip-hop Saturnalia complete with unwilling orgies, vengeance (as they see it), drug and alcohol fueled freedom, frolic and bloodshed.

Now is the time to start thinking about evacuation if you are anywhere near an inner city area where things might get testy. Now is the time to start thinking about getting together with your neighbors and family members to start thinking about home and personal defense.

It’s going to be Rodney King times 10, nationwide. And even if they frogmarched Zimmerman outside the courthouse and shot him in the head, it would still happen.

So then who will they blame when he is acquitted — the defendant who the prosecution team tried to railroad like they have done to so many other defendants or the prosecution team that tried to do the railroading or scheme teamers who lied to them.

If there is any shred of justice, then Zimmerman will walk.

I personally think he will; if he would have been a police officer, this would have been termed a good shoot long ago, and the family would have received their go-away blood money.

Trayvon Martin wanted to play Knockout Kings but didn’t understand the “armed citizen” rule. Too bad, so sad.

Anyway, there will be riots I firmly believe they will be much worse than Rodney King due to the social media.

I don’t think there’s any way he should be convicted. Assuming the jury is independent, the only way would be for the judge to give grossly unfair instructions. Is it possible for a judge to declare someone guilty and take a decision away from a jury?

I’ve heard she could declare a mistrial and that Zimmerman couldn’t keep his same lawyers. I cannot think of a single reason that should be true. It simply doesn’t sound right to me.

The prosecutorial ineptitude is what got O. J. Simpson found not guilty. The prosecutors would have won if they hadn’t trumped up that case with “evidence” that wasn’t there, just like they’re doing here. It made the jury question their real evidence.

But these prosecutors are criminals themselves, trying to make a case that it is illegal to use lethal force to defend oneself against a deadly threat, one that the victim has no knowledge of how serious it really might be.

Only one question need be asked of multiple police officers put on the stand as defense witnesses (should have been asked as cross examination):

“Sir, if you found yourself on the ground, with your head being battered against a sidewalk, and an unknown assailant pounding you in the face with his fists, with no other recourse than to pull your service weapon, would you feel your life threatened, and would you pull that weapon and then pull the trigger?”

You might be right about that, but I’m not as convinced if there is the obvious miscarriage of justice and GZ is railroaded to a guilty verdict.

There is the appeals process, however, and that could reverse if justices can truly be objective as there is extreme prosecutorial bias and misconduct from the start. Not to mention the “fair trial” issues.

Either way, it’s either this or something subsequent. As I tell my liberal friends, you let the toothpaste out of the tube, so get ready for many “I told you so’s” I just wish they had let me out of it

Zim should not be on trial in the first place - shows the cowardice of the pols. I’m convince that if video came out of “Gentle Trayvon” murdering infants, his supporters would still want to hang Zim.

When the source of thoughtful and moderate opinion in the black community thinks Zimmerman “ignored the dispatcher’s order and followed Martin” we know the truth still hasn’t gotten through.
