On Independence Day, Obama urges Americans to live up to words of Declaration of Independence [LOL!]

Obama is urging Americans on the Fourth of July to live up to the words of the Declaration of Independence by securing liberty and opportunity for their own children as well as for future generations.

In his weekly radio and online address, Obama commemorates the Fourth of July by looking back at the day in 1776 that a small band of patriots declared those in the American colonies “a people created equal” —free to think and worship and live as they please.

Obama says their declaration was “heard around the world.”

Is this an invitation??? Well, to me it looks like he is giving clemency to anyone who were do actually follow the guide path set out in the declaration.

Yesterday picked up a bunch of $2 bills. My favorite ones. If you don’t already know, it is the one with Jefferson on the front and a depiction of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the back.

His excellency should have a bill with his likeness on the front made...the $3 bill. On the back they can have a depiction of a fag wedding.

I can’t even laugh — the statement is just ludicrous... coming from HIM, I mean.
(And doesn’t he realize that he’s making the case that we should appeal to our G.O.D.s [Government Overhaul Device; i.e. guns]?)

The statement isn’t meant for us, it is meant for his base. Read it from the progressive POV and you will realize he is calling for a revolution.

He essentially tells them they must take up the “task.” What task? The revolutionary task.

Because nobody over here wants to fire the first shot. -- But, then again, we can goad them into doing it: link (though I honestly don't know if any Governor has the balls to do this).

Of that I have no doubt.

As a few have pointed out 0bama speaks of ‘equality of stuff/outcomes,’ in his statement and then essentially bets(signals) to the base the time for rebellion is upon them.

Except that isn't what the Declaration says.

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

"Heard 'round the world" was the firing of muskets at troops of a gun-grabbing New England Governor.

We The People will very likely "live up to" that again, and will use Obama's own words in our defense.

It appears Obama confused the Constitution with the document we celebrate on July 4th each year.

The preamble to our Constitution :

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

The Declaration of Independence :

Most people know this passage in the Declaration of Independence.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The words immediately following the words, Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness clearly defines the only reason to create a government.
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,

The paragraph continues by recognizing the people’s obligation to replace government when the government usurp powers of legislation not granted by the Constitution.

That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

By the way, he “celebrated” (or mocked) Easter with his “White House lawn egg roll” on MONDAY April 1st this year (the day after Easter).

Then again, he didn’t grow up in this country and is resentful of its customs.
