Potentially explosive development in IRS scandals
American Thinker ^ | July 5, 2013 | Thomas Lifson

One of the most important and so-far least noted threads in the IRS sandal cloth is the inexplicable remark made by Austan Goolsbee, at the time the Chairman of the White Council of Economic Advisors about the taxes paid by the Koch brothers - arch villains in the Manichean delusions of the American left - that would require his knowledge of their confidential tax returns. Did the White House senior staff illegally browse through the tax records of their political enemies? The Washington Free Beacon has been trying to find out, and uncovered an interesting response:

CJ Ciaramella reports:

The Treasury Department on Wednesday refused to confirm or deny the existence of an inspector general report investigating whether or not former White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee illegally accessed tax information on the Koch brothers.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by the Washington Free Beacon, declined to acknowledge the existence of the report.

Really, has the FBI talked to ONE Tea Party person? Eff ‘em.

As of the other night, according to Jordan Sokolow, not one of the 40-something parties in the class-action law suit has been contacted by the FBI.

It really is the "JUST-US" department, and I never thought I'd live to see the day where this could happen, at least at this level.

I fear it's worse. The FBI's crossing lines.

Freepers need to start treating the FBI with the same unrelenting contempt and scrutiny we use against the New York Times or the corrupt ones who doctor tapes at NBC...

If the IRS and FBI are targeting conservative citizens because of their political beliefs they need to be hauled in front of grand juries. "Sir, how many "Occupy" groups' have FBI agents assigned to them? How many Tea Party groups? How many left wing organizations do you 'investigate? How many right wing organizations? We need to know if you've become the de facto secret police of a corrupt administration....

I am still hoping one person will crack or will be compelled to crack - after that, the entire rot will be exposed quickly as the perps try to get the best deal possible by talking “firstest”.

Another one? How many ‘explosives’ do we have before they ticket the door and do an end to end audit, housecleaning.

I don't know. Maybe in the year 9,510. It DOES get frustrating, doesn't it?

Under a Republican presidency, the media would be calling for impeachment.
Under the current marxist regime, the media is silent.

the obama campaign also seemed to be very familiar with mitt romney’s tax returns during the last campaign . . . hardly a day went by without a campaign surrogate claiming that there was some defect or deficiency or another in romney’s returns.

Exactly! And it’s places/people like FR and American Thinker who can bring this to daylight. Darry Issawus and the Repugs aren’t going to do it. In fact the way things have been going, it seems like they’re content for a few days of media exposure, then they go silent, like they’re participating in the coverup.

I’m not holding my breath for Boehner or McConnell to do their jobs.

The FBI is too busy to investigate complaints against the IRS Because, its agents are still trying to find where Jim Hoffa is/was buried!

It’s true, just last week they spent close to a million dollars to follow up on a tip, (source unknown) that Hoffa’s body was buried somewhere.

The tip probably came from a Mafia guy in prison for life. That’s where the one in 2009 came from. When FBIes spent two weeks and millions of taxpayer dollars digging in a pasture at a MI horse farm. I wonder if the lifer wise- guys bet on who can get the FBI to “bite”.

What if JT Hoffa is/was in the Witness Protection Program?

Where ever he is/was, I don’t care and wish the FBI would investigate the criminals presently serving in government.

0bama did accomplish one of his campaign promises. He stated that he would transform the United States. ...he ...transformed the government of the United States from one you could almost trust, to one if you trust you're a fool.

Well said.
