Yes, I saw that story too. Did an emergency diversion, they sent a 747 to pick up the passengers. Somewhere in Asia IIRC. I wonder who made the engines?
They're either:
- General Electric GE90
- Pratt & Whitney PW4000
- Rolls Royce Trent 800

I loved to fly when I was young, now I don’t fly at all.
It got so my insides would lock up for days after arriving.
Maybe it’s because I was an aircraft mech...?

Great coverage on ABC right now. The top of the plane is almost completely gone. Charred fuselage, all torn up. It looks terrible.

‘Cept the wings are still on it... Looks to have been a severe internal fire, between the trailing edge of the wing and the cockpit. Roof entirely burned off.

I guess you can say Im not a very good flyer LOL. We know people who love to fly, take a sleeping pill and awake at their destination. I refuse to take any meds, hey if Im gonna die I want to see it coming LOL.

I think there was a 777 which emergency landed in Russia on a Moscow to Heathrow route about a month ago, ..in May13,..fire in the engine.
