George Zimmerman might be on the verge of becoming the next O.J. Simpson.
He’s the defendant in the high profile case out of Sanford, Fla., that has launched a million discussions and a thousand protests across the country, including Myrtle Beach, Columbia and throughout the Carolinas.
A jury of six women will decide if the prosecution has presented enough evidence to rebut Zimmerman’s claim of self defense. He shot unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin during a confrontation that began after Zimmerman believed, for reasons unexplained, Martin was suspicious for walking home from the store.
No matter what the jury decides, the pro- and anti-Zimmerman camps likely won’t change their minds -- just like the Simpson verdict.
Zimmerman was unknown until that fateful night in which he shot Martin, while Simpson had a Hall of Fame pro football career and spots in well-received commercials and slapstick comedies.
Zimmerman seemed to be a wanna-be police officer, Simpson a high-profile husband with domestic violence accusations in his past.
Zimmerman is a middle-class white Hispanic, Simpson a rich black guy.
Those are the superficial differences. In each case, the people who were killed have largely become afterthoughts.
The people who cheered wildly with glee when Simpson was found not guilty all but danced on the graves of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman.
Their focus was on Simpson, not his wife and the man brutally murdered beside her, not on the evidence that strongly suggested Simpson’s guilt, despite the defense’s expert cross examinations that raised questions in the minds of jurors -- the only minds that legally mattered.
Today, supporters of Zimmerman -- people who had never heard of him -- don’t much care that an unarmed 17-year-old walking home from the store ended up dead on the street......

And none of these elitists care about Blacks being killed in Chicago by gangs with guns. It is only White on Black that bothers them.
I saw on cable that the judge is with-holding key evidence that Trayvon was high during the confrontation.
All people of European descent will not be involved with the results of this case. Let the blacks & hispanics fight this one out.

The reasons were given during the State’s witness testimonies, especially the Zimmerman interviews taken by the police investigators. Trayvon Martin was not simply loitering. He was described during the calls to the police and during the police investigations as going between the residences and peering into the windows. In other words, Martin was trespassing on the residential properties and behaving like one of the burglary suspects looking for a future residence to burglarize. The suspicions were further heightened when Treyvon Martin circled Zimmerman in his car in a staring and potentially intimidating manner. Zimmerman clearly indicated in his calls to the police that he was trying to direct the police patrol officers to the suspiciously behaving person, who later turned out to be Trayvon Martin. Martin took off running and hid in the darkness. When Zimmerman attempted to try and see in what direction Martin went, Martin allegedly lay in wait until Zimmerman came close enough to be ambushed with a physical assault. Martin failed to realize he was assaulting and endangering the life and limb of a man carrying a concealed firearm, until it became a life or death struggle for Zimmerman to use the firearm on Martin before Martin took the firearm and used it on Zimmerman or bashed Zimmerman’s brains out onto the sidewalk.
The lynch mob going after Zimmerman keep trying to portray Trayvon Martin as a poor little boy who was unarmed. In reality Martin appears to have been playing his own version of the “Knock Out” game in which someone who is perceived to be a White person is punched in the head without provocation to seee if the victim can be killed or maimed by the black assailant. Unfortunately for Trayvon Martin, he picked on the wrong victim.
Evidence that should not have been withheld.
Apparently Martin did something he wouldn’t have done when sober.

Perhaps it was because he was loitering, in the rain, in the yard of a house that had recently been burglarized.
He also was walking across people's yards close to the houses. With a rash of recent break ins, Zimmerman was trying to prevent another one by reporting and following a suspicious character.
I can't imagine any of this happening if Trayvon had simply walked home.
However, as has been discussed on this thread, Zimmerman following Trayvon isn't where the focus belongs.
I’ve heard that he was five, not two, when Fulton gave custody to Tracy. What was the reason she gave for giving him up? I just can’t imagine a mother willingly giving up her son for any reason. Does anyone know Sybrina Fulton’s history or background?
Well, “Hispanic” isn’t technically a racial term, it just means someone from the Spanish-speaking world, it’s more of a linguistic term. There are caucasian Hispanics (usually descended from Spaniards), but that isn’t the sense that the media uses it to portray Zimmerman, because his Peruvian ancestors were likely mostly Native American, not Spaniards.
Yes and no. The toxicology showed levels of THC in the blood that could have either signified use in the last 8 hours (probably not the last hour), if he was only a sporadic user. If he was a chronic user, it could have indicated use that was days old. There’s no way to establish from the levels when the use occurred, so that is probably why it was excluded.

Ah, it’s Saturday night. Time to jump in bed and connect the ipad to my ear buds. Why? To listen to a war zone. To listen to what Mr. Bailey, the complete idiot that wrote this garbage should be listening to. What might that be? Let me tell you, the Chicago PD police scanner. Day in and day out the carnage continues as blacks kill blacks in way the old KKK could never kill blacks. After decades and trillions of dollars black folks in urban kill zones such as Chicago are less safe than when they were back in the days of slavery when they were on the plantation. Today, urban blacks in areas like Chicago are getting killed in droves but Mr. Bailey wants to opine about a mostly unwhite guy killing a gangster wanna be who was dumb enough and maybe stoned enough to listen to some fat chick with an attitude goad and nudge him in to banging on aforementioned unwhite guy. Uh oh, unwhite dude is armed and while he only pinged gangster wanna be he did so in his heart. Lights out. Hmm, wonder why the bad unwhite guy didn’t unload the clip? The joke, if you will, is not only on the American taxpayer and working folk but also on urban blacks that are stuck in these kill zones. Should they blame whitey about their situation? There was evidence presented (by the prosecution, no less) which actually casts reasonable doubt on this claim. One of the witnesses, a Sanford PD officer, testified that the Sanford PD *approached* Mr. Zimmerman with the idea of getting *him* an official Sanford PD squad car, and a quasi-official 'police uniform', to be used when he made patrols. Mr Zimmerman declined that offer, according to that testimony.
That testimony, right there, is reasonable doubt to *any* rational person that Mr Zimmerman is a cop-wannabe, since he declined a freely offered status which would be considered a wannabe cop's wet dream...

Mr Zimmerman's ancestry from his Peruvian side most likely, contains a thorough mix of several different stocks, as most Peruvians are not completely of one particular genetic heritage. These could/would include European Caucasians of different varieties (not just Spaniards), Native American (from any number of different subgroups, and not solely Incan), Black African, and East Asian.
My wife is Peruvian, and in her family alone, most of the aforementioned genetic stocks are represented, but mixed overall...
