SANFORD, Fla. (AP) Trayvon Martin's father testified Monday that he never denied it was his son's voice screaming for help on a 911 call, contradicting police officers' earlier testimony at George Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial.
Tracy Martin said that he merely told officers he couldn't tell if it was his son after his first time listening to the call.
"I never said that wasn't my son's voice," said Tracy Martin, who added that he concluded it was his son after listening to the call as many as 20 times.
Tracy Martin's testimony came after the lead investigator probing Martin's death testified that the father had answered "no" when the detective asked if the screams belonged to Trayvon Martin. Officer Chris Serino played the 911 call for Tracy Martin in the days immediately following Trayvon Martin's death in February 2012.
"He looked away and under his breath he said 'no'," Serino said of Tracy Martin.
Officer Doris Singleton backed up Serino's account. Convincing the jury of whose voice is on the tape is important to both sides because it would help jurors decide who was the aggressor in the confrontation that left Martin dead. Relatives of Martin's and George Zimmerman's have offered conflicting opinions about who is heard screaming.
During cross examination of Serino, prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda suggested that Tracy Martin may have been in denial about his son's death and uttered, 'no." "It could be perceived as denial," Serino said............

Everyone said it was Zimmerman screaming. Except Trayvons parents. Racists!
Actually, you are the one who is racist for pointing that out. :-P
His word against the cops’ word.
“I never said that wasn’t my son’s voice,” said Tracy Martin, who added that he concluded it was his son after listening to the call as many as 20 times.
Uh, huh....
Trayvon Martin's father testified Monday that he never denied it was his son's voice screaming for help on a 911 call,
contradicting police officers' earlier testimony at George Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial.
The two officers corroborated each other’s accounts and in doing so left Tracey’s prefabricated answer hanging like a chad.
Any conjecture about whether that session was recorded?
For anyone who is following this closer than me:
Why would the defense call Trayvon’s father?
Perjury
Because otherwise the two previous officer’s statements that he said it wasn’t his son’s voice could have been stricken as hearsay.
I don’t think it was because they would have had to tell them so ahead of time.
He said shortly after "the scream" was made available that it was NOT his son's voice.
After that there was this exchange between O’Mara and Tracey:
Omara asked Tracy if he told his attorney Crump to say that he didnt tell LE that it wasn’t his son, as O’Mara holds Crump’s deposition from the day before. Tracy says NO.
O’Mara then asked Tracy a couple of times: DID YOU NOT TELL YOUR ATTNY TO SAY .... Each time Tracy said NO — I DID NOT TELL MY ATTNY TO SAY ANYTHING.
When Tracy left the stand, he walked out of the courtroom with his new attorney Daryl Parks, Crump’s law partner.
After listening to the lawyer ask TM's father about his interactions with Crump and Sybrina, I have a hunch that something significant came up in the Crump deposition yesterday, and they were laying the groundwork for a little surprise later.
And when it was explained to him what answer they needed. He is going into sketchy territory accusing the police of lying.
Actually this is nonsense. Martin was beating the crap out of Zimmerman what did he have to scream about.
His knuckles were hurting and he was getting tired of punching —
