George Zimmerman’s defense team rested its case Wednesday, after using its final day of testimony to paint the neighborhood watch volunteer as a wimp who was getting pummeled when he shot Trayvon Martin in self-defense, at one point commandeering a mannequin introduced by prosecutors in order to re-enact its version of the fight. Angela Corey and this judge represent government...

Government has become evil and corrupt to the core....

This trial is absolute proof of that.

Someone said said that if he DID take the stand and was found guilty, he can’t appeal, right?

Because in this one, the prosecution had nothing but ‘hot air’ to present.

No, he can appeal if he testifies. He couldn't however avoid cross-examination by the prosecutors if he testified. That's why almost all lawyers HIGHLY suggest that D's don't testify. They often can't handle cross. That's normal.

Z sounded very nervous when the judge (before the defense rested) demanded to know if he'd testify. I knew right then and there he wasn't going to testify (unless MOM/West failed to talk him out of it). The last thing Z needs is to have some contradiction (even a mistake, not a lie) pointed out in his story during cross getting jurors to think "Something isn't right here. He's hiding something. He's nervous. Guilty".

The prosecution would have on cross probably bring up contradictions, his restraining order, the incident with the BATF guy, "f'ing punks/Ahole", etc. MOM/West would probably have a ton of objections, but they can do only so much.

We know that they nearly never put the defendant on the stand, but in this case why not? I don’t see how Zimmerman could hurt his own case, and he might convince a wavering juror.

What’s the racial/gender mix of the jury? Everybody knows the OJ trial was over after the prosecution allowed an all minority jury to be seated.

He should have taken the stand, I think he made a big mistake in not doing so.

Hi, Ftd. Zim has outstanding lawyers. He should do what they advise. They've been through this before. We haven't.

My understanding of their decision is they think they're winning, so why risk Zimmerman being tripped up. No possible gain makes it worth while right now from their view.

What item(s) do you think the PROSECUTION has proven at this point?

I believe he is innocent, but the fact remains jurors always want to hear from the defendant himself.

As for the Defense lawyers, they are always conservative.

Listening to the Defense lawyers on ESPN, regarding the case of the Tight End from the Patriots, you would think no one was ever convicted of murder without the murder weapon or witnesses.

The guy gets into a car with the victim and comes home without him-'only circumstantial, cannot convict'-balony!

They have convicted people without bodies!

So, the judge can tell the Jury that they must not hold the fact that he didn't testify against him, but human nature will do so in most cases. I am afraid that he is going to be convicted of manslaughter since the judge wouldn't allow the text messages into evidence.

I hope I am wrong.

I don’t understand for the life of me why this case even came to court, as it was clearly a case of self defense, UNLESS President Obama gave the orders for the trial to happen in order to play the race card.

My take is that Obama was the puppet master of what will later be called, “The Zimmerman Affair” from the GITGO - and I believe that the delay from last year to this year was ordered by Obama to plant the seed for nationwide race riots.

“Divide And Conquer” said Caesar. This is Obama’s goal and it seems to working well.

I disagree. I think he's already presented an excellent defense and taking the stand could only provide an opportunity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I hope you’re wrong, too, but to get “manslaughter” they have to show malice for voluntary manslaughter and they have to show recklessness for negligent manslaughter.

I don’t think they’ve proven malice in any way.

Their witnesses don’t show any kind of stalking style, repeated harassment type of following, so I don’t see anything that’s reckless.

So far as the round already chambered, I understand that to be part of the type of pistol Zimmerman had. But, how do you say it’s important that you have a traditional safetyon your pistol and in the on position prior to getting your head beat in?

Is it illegal to get your head beat in with your safety off???

Had Zimmerman testified, he would have been on the stand for 3 days minimum. 95% of this caused by the prosecution.

You miss the point.

It does not matter whether the Jury saw the Judge's abuse or not, the American People saw it on TV

This case is no longer about George Zimmerman’s guilt or innocence, nor is it a local issue, and it is being tried in the court of public opinion over the television screen.

The fact that the Jury is made up of all women has me concerned that they will think he ‘overreacted’ and didn’t have to shoot him.
