CHOICES

An elderly carpenter was about to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.

The contractor was very sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front door key to the carpenter. "This is your house, he said, my gift to you."

What a shock! If only he had known he was building his own house, he would have done it differently. Now he had to live in the home he had build none too well.

So it is with us. Sometimes we build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up with less than the best. At important points we may not give our best effort. Then with shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that, we would have built it differently.

Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. Life is a do-it-yourself project. Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

Master Carp. is right! None of the old ‘measure twice..cut once’ for the BIG GUY! He just looked at a piece of wood and knew right where to cut the first time.......without any measuring!!! Never cut one wrong either.

Amazing Grace

By John Newton

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, .
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.
.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Hello from Idaho....

God Bless the Troops, past and present.

Earlier this week finally saw a flying squirrel on a tree at 1am. Fredd wanted out I think he heard the squirrel because when we went outside Fredd went right away to the tree the squirrel was on. The kitchen light was on and I could see it eating out of the feeder.

It had huge, huge eyes and you could see the fold of skin for the wings.

We also have 3 baby robins in the nest on the front porch. I am hopping to see mom robin toss them out and that way I can see them in their first flight.

Trying to take pics of everything. So far no luck.

God Bless you all!!!

Got home just a bit ago, after delivering rhubarb, then watching the Zimmerman verdict with my Mom.
Those 6 ladies of the jury are to be commended. They actually listened to the facts.
Had it been me, I would have been wondering why I kept hearing only one part of a story;
why I could hear things about one, but not the other.
Zimmerman will never get his life back.

OK....end of this.

Frankly, I was surprised that he was acquitted. I thought they were going to find him guilty on the manslaughter charge.

As soon as I heard about the jury asking about manslaughter, I thought for sure, that they not knowing the consequences of said verdict, I lost all hope for the jury following the actual evidence.

This whole case has been so biased, starting with the laugher of a judge, and the resident and his statement about having a son like the thug. Does Holder go after him now?
