Rand Paul: I’ve got Mike Enzi’s back vs. Liz Cheney

If Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi ends up facing a primary challenge from Liz Cheney, he might be able to count on some help from one of his highest-profile conservative colleagues.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul told POLITICO Thursday that he considers Enzi “a good conservative,” and said he wasn’t familiar with Cheney’s interest in running against the incumbent Republican.

“I don’t know much about her or her politics, really,” Paul said. “I am a friend of Sen. Enzi and while we aren’t exactly the same, I consider him a good conservative.”

Uh oh. How are Liz Cheney supporters going to spin this one? Good luck trying to portray Dick's daughter (the “Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State For Near Eastern Affairs” in the Bush administration) as the “anti-establishment” candidate, and the guy who is being backed by Rand Paul as a “RINO”

Bad move wasting time and money to try and “take out” someone who is already a reliable conservative. We need to stop eating our own and go after socialists in the U.S. Senate, IMO.

So now that several conservatives have decided they want to waste time trying to defeat a fellow conservative, the battle lines are being drawn...

wow I actually agree with Paul.

If those who want Cheney want another McCain, Graham and pro homosexual and cross dressing then that for them but I won’t have it

Too bad let her run she’d be a good senator. Rand Paul can support who he wants. The Cheneys are, duh, a well established Wyoming conservative family.

I don’t know if Rand Paul’s support automatically means someone isn’t in the establishment. I mean, Rand is one of Mitch McConnell’s top supporters and Mitch McConnell is as establishment as it gets.

really, OK lets go to her always being a hawk like McCain and Graham.
She will be like her dad and for her sister and support homosexual and cross dressing but of course she’ll shout lower taxes and the dopes who see the R will vote for her and ask yourself this.

Why is she going after another republican who is relative conservative and why not go after a Dem?

Does she even live in Wyoming ? Add to that, I don’t see how she doesn’t add to the gay “marriage” RINO contingent in the Senate. We don’t need that.

Dick Cheney already crossed that line when he dissed Sarah Palin unprovoked.

The Cheneys are dead to me.

“Too bad let her run she’d be a good senator. “

I don’t have any particular preference, but the idea that somehow Enzi is “entitled” to keep the seat I find at the center of the problem facing the GOP. Enzi has had three terms in the Senate. Just that fact alone should be the basis for a challenge from someone younger. In Utah, Bennett was kinda like Enzi, but you know, Mike Lee is young and vital in a way that Bennett ceased to be years ago. Face it, this staying in office until they carry you out, is a problem for the GOP too. Let the best candidate win. And I will bet you that if Enzi prevails, he will be a “renewed” Senator, so it’s all good!

If Enzi is to be challenged, let it come from Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis.

Sorry, but Enzi supports the ‘market fairness act’ which wants to tax all internet transactions. This issue has been repeatedly smacked down by SCOTUS and is unconstitutional. Rand also wants amnesty. I am not supporting an open borders/amnesty/tax the internet republican. If Cheney wants this, screw her too.

I am sick of the GOPe and their brand of pseudo-esoteric conservatives.

>> Enzi supports the ‘market fairness act’ which wants to tax all internet transactions. <<

So an internet tax is worse than the Cheney family's effort to destroy the institution of marriage? I'm pretty much most conservatives wouldn't agree with you on that.

>> Rand also wants amnesty. <<

Enzi does not. Feel free to check Mike Enzi's voting record on immigration, he is one of the BEST Senators we have in Washington when it comes to opposing rewards for illegals. You might have missed the part where Rand made it clear during the endorsement that he and Mike Enzi don't agree on everything. If anyone is likely to be a closet supporter for amnesty, it's Liz Cheney.

Oh goody, another "conservative" who thinks Enzi failing to get an internet sales tax is worse than the Cheney family successfully leading the way to destroy traditional marriage in America.

Liz Cheney supports homosexual marriage and the homosexual agenda.

So yes, she is some of those things.

Care to tell us what her position on abortion is?
