At a teacher “sensitivity” training session in Brooklyn in the early 90’s, the African-American presenter offered the scenario of riding the subway late at night and having a group of young black teens coming your way in an effort to get us white teachers to acknowledge our profiling/racist bent. Every one of the female black teachers present at the session said, “Shoot, I’m holding my purse tighter, too.”

I believe it is a “survival” trait to “profile”. It has become PC to attack “profiling” when profiling is done against protected groups but certainly okay when used against unfavored or unprotected groups. I believe every sane person “profiles” from a natural survival instinct. JJ just committed a liberal “faux pas” by admitting it.

Unfortunately, this trend toward criminalizing racism is going to have quite the opposite of it’s intended effect.

I'm a profiler as well. Have been since a store I was working in was robbed by a gang of Holder's peeps back in the mid-80's. I've tried to advise others to profile as well. It is amazing how many people worry that they'll be thought of as "racist" for profiling. On many occasions I've walked across the street, gone back into the store I just exited and have refused to go into a convenience store because I didn't like the cut of somebody's jib. And I don't really give a rat's ass if someone I don't know and will likely never see again looks at me with an expression of "you race-siss Mutha-F***a" just because I avoided them. People need to stop worrying about what people they don't know think about them.
