Benghazi discharge petition announced, Stockman to force action on Benghazi investigation

Jul 17, 2013 Press Release

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Steve Stockman (R-TX 36) will seek to force a vote in Congress on creating a select committee to investigate the Obama administration’s handling of the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Following the cancellation of a House hearing this week on the Benghazi attacks, Rep. Stockman announced his intention to file a discharge petition to force a vote on Rep. Frank Wolf’s H. Res. 36, which would establish a Select Committee to investigate the Benghazi attacks.

“Congressman Wolf has fearlessly led the fight for justice on this issue. The whole nation owes Congressman Wolf a deep debt of gratitude. Some House Democrats now appear to be openly interfering with the investigation and intimidating witnesses, which only raises more questions about the White House’s involvement,” said Stockman. “The only way we’re going to get a clean and thorough investigation is by forcing a vote with a discharge petition.”

The House Foreign Affairs Committee, of which Rep. Stockman is a member, had originally scheduled a hearing, entitled “Benghazi: Progress on State Department Accountability,” for Thursday, July 18 at 10 a.m.

According to Rep. Wolf, a Select Committee is the only way to effectively conduct an investigation the attacks.

If 218 House members, a majority of the chamber, sign the discharge petition H. Res. 36 would be recalled from committee and considered on the floor.

The time has come to make a specific set of charges as related to Benghazi—and force the administration out of hiding or into a de facto admission of guilt. It’s the way those creeps play.

So what is a Select Committee going to do that the House Committee hasn’t?

A Select Committee would provide a coordinated effort. As it stands now, different committees are fumbling around and in some cases duplicating one anothers efforts. There’s no real focus.

The Heritage Foundation has this to say...

If you are waiting for the GOP to do anything about this
you are SOL. They are in on it and are just as dirty as
the Tards. Hint, one of these parties rule and the other
is just a distraction.

"You shouldn't be able to murder four government employees by dereliction of duty and get away with it..."

There would have been even more than 4 dead if the special forces guys had not run into that nightmare to try and save people.

These were obviously brave, honorable men, who died heroes.

They deserve to have their true story known.

It's not right how they, and their families have been treated by our government.

I hope something will come of this, but, it doesn't seem likely that we will ever get the truth.

Sad.

"Anyone know where Boehner is on this?"

"Anyone know where the GOP is on this?"

Equally as important, does anyone know where the missing Benghazi survivors are...y'know, the ones that have been kept hidden by the administration and were told to "keep quiet"?

Where is the GOP on this?

The GOP is more shameful than the RATS who are running everything in DC. The GOP Led House has one of the most powerful tools - the power of the purse and are so chicken they will not even use it.
I am done with them - no more money and no more votes. I will sit it out because frankly I don't see how voting for RINOs makes any difference - a no vote is better than a vote for a RAT.

Speaking of Benghazi...

What was that song:

Ding, Dong, the witch is dead. The wicked witch.
Sing it high, sing it lo. Ding, Dong, the wicked witch is dead...

It has been a while, so I might have the lyrics wrong...
