Cantor: Making Citizens of Young Illegals the Decent Thing to Do

Granting citizenship to illegal immigrants who were brought to the country as minors is the “compassionate” thing to do, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said on Wednesday.

“[T]he history of our country is one that moved away from holding kids liable for the deeds, misdeeds, commitment of crime by parents,” Cantor said, during a GOP press conference on Capitol Hill. “And these, in many instances, are kids without a country if we don’t allow them to become full citizens of our country.”

“It is not only an issue of fairness, as the Speaker said, it’s an issue of decency, of compassion,” he said. “Where else would these kids go?” …

The ridiculous thing about these Rino’s pushing amnesty, and alienating their base is, Obama will demagogue some small portion of the bill and veto it making it look like the Republicans are anti-immigrant. Low information voters haven’t seen most of this bill and are going to be angry when they do. If Cantor doesn’t feel an obligation to serve the taxpayers ofnhiandistrict, at least he should consider the interests of the citizens who live there. There is no way that amnesty for illegal aliens advances the interests of any Americans except those who want to hire them at low wages.

I hope he is primaries and loses his seat. He has no place in a legislative body where he is supposed to look out for his constituents.
