What are you going to say? Nothin', that's what. What is there to say?

This is just the socialists attempting to avoid the natural consequences of the monstrosity they have birthed and called "the New America."

NYC may have higher debt, but NYC has taxpayers.

Detroit lacks enough responsible taxpayers.

The responsible ones that could, fled the Democratic City of Detroit.

Good thing too, in view of the heavy amount of black racism there.

This action ought to get her removed from the bench.

Unless you are willing to provide 24x7x365 armed security at you building I wouldn’t even consider it. I read somewhere about a business that had bene based in Detroit for 30-40 years that had to leave because of copper thieves that would steal a/c coils and wiring on an almost weekly basis. Can’t do business without power, phone or internet.

Welfare payments not made.

That's when the riots start. Hope they don't spread too far outside the city limits.

Ah yes, good old Keynesian economics. It doesn’t matter how much debt we accumulate, we’ll all be dead someday and it won’t matter.

If you have enough taxpayers to support it, you wouldn’t have the growing debt.

Unfortunately no. NY city alone has more than $100 billion in debt. Detroit is but a tiny canary in a very large coal mine.

Very true. The only reason Detroit is the first to blink is that it has been, essentially, shut out of the bond market. Bernanke's printing is enabling the continued purchase of stocks and bonds, thereby removing the need for due diligence and accurate ratings. When the bond markets seize as a side effect of QE being reduced or withdrawn, the smelly brown matter will hit the whirling blades quickly.

This is really a scary vision of the future if you ask me. We are prohibited from ‘dishonoring’ Obama now?

It is going to take a long time to take this country back from these fools and fascists.

“It’s cheating, sir, and it’s cheating good people who work,” the judge told assistant state Attorney General Brian Devlin. “It’s also not honoring the (United States) president, who took (Detroit’s auto companies) out of bankruptcy.”

Definitely a Low Information Voter.

Just like Justice Kennedy said those against Gay Marriage are Bigots. They are taking emotions and behaviors that were never in the relm of law and can now use thought policing against us to transform us into subjects not citizens...

*******************************************************************
And the 50% that remain lit are serving as beacons for the copper thieves as they continue their dismantling of Detroit’s remaining infrastructure.

NY was bailed out in 1975.

I don't consider loan guarantees to be 'bailed out', while I agree that the effect is still largely the same. The US gov't providing loan guarantees now will all depend on the faith afforded the US Treasury. The percentage of takedown by primary dealers in all auctions over the past few years is exorbitant, and being flipped right back to the Fed within days. The largest source of "confidence" in regards to Treasury bonds, now, is the Federal Reserve via PDs.

How much more can the fed balance sheet explode before retail and institutional investors put on the brakes. I guess that will be determined by how long we dump $85b per month in liquidity into the markets and how long we can get away with direct monetization. Sooner or later, the gig is up.

Female judge.

And yeah, it damn well does matter, when this sort of crap is used to justify a ruling.

What level of feelings and hero worship would she use to justify sentencing someone to prison, who otherwise wouldn't have to go?

THIS is the REAL feminist America - read it and weep.

This bimbo has no clue as to the power of a Federal Bankruptcy Judge - or the world of feces she has walked into by trying to mess with a filed Bankruptcy Petition through State Court proceedings.

She was ousted of jurisdiction the moment that petition was filed and any party trying to undo that petition must go through the Bankruptcy Court to do so. She'll be lucky if she isn't held in contempt and tossed into the slammer.
