And then there’s the whole issue of accountability. These cops do some pretty crazy sh*t and nothing happens to them. Let a couple get hemmed up and see how much this activity is scaled back.

My nephew had the right solution - every time a cop does something that is clearly in the wrong, make him assume full responsibility by taking any and all damages out of his benefits and pension, and make sure he's blacklisted from being hired elsewhere.

After all, if private citizens really screw up, they are hit financially, and that impacts their retirement and benefits, and it can keep them from being hired elsewhere.

A lot of cops would probably use their head a little more if there were a lot more serious repercussions, rather than the taxpayers being on the hook to cover the inevitable lawsuits.

Consider that a future target will surely be Freepers, with the intent to disarm.

If they are at your door, threatening you, your spouse, and/or children (or loved ones), do you *really* want them to have more range time?

What Good Can a Handgun Do Against an Army.....?

I’m surprised no one posted this yet.

People will complain that someone might might remove the door at the hinges

There are hinges available with non-removable pins. I have installed thousands of them. Also, make sure there are shims behind the hinges and the strike plate. This reduces the possibility of "door jacking", putting a jack between the door jambs and forcing them apart far enough to disengage the lock mechanism.

For in-swinging doors, there are some things that can be used to delay any forced entry by any kind of thugs, uniformed or not. For windows, think about Lexan. A great invention, used in armored cars and bank drive-up windows.

That’s still gonna leave a mark.

They have similar doors in Europe. A lady there showed me her apartment door. I think it weighed about a hundred pounds, and had bolts securing it on four sides, like a safe door.

They have similar in the US. Google for steel security door.

You can also get a steel storm door like this:

I have one like this, but with a mail slot. You can open the inner door and talk to people securely through the glass.

That is just like the Israeli doors! extends bolts top bottom and side. On the hinge side it has studs that stick out and as the door close they go into sockets on the frame.

What would the idiot types do if they hit a door like that and then when they tried to toss a grenade in a window hit security film?

Knock and serve a warrant I guess.

A friend has a steel door, which he had somebody paint so that it look like wood.

If they think entry will be easy, and find out it's difficult only when they try, then you have gained time. If they know up front that the door will be hard to get through, then they will come prepared for it, like just driving a vehicle up to your front door and smashing through.

” Six of the officers were
wounded, and Officer Jared Francom was
killed. Mr. Stewart himself was shot twice
before he was arrested. He was charged
with several crimes, including the murder
of Officer Francom.”

It is amazing how cops expect and get the benifit of the doubt in crazy shootings. Newspaper ladies come to mind.
But cops get SEAL crazy, get shot up for surprizing people, and we’re at fault. Lovely double standard piglets.

Makes it hard to be bothered by their losses.

>> How do you defend against overwhelming force? And that is what they will come with.

Rest assured it will never happen. By golly, we’re all neighbors.

Anyway, the imminent problem is the GOP establishment pushing amnesty. 2014 is slipping away.

I just heard this from a solid source. During the Boston Marathon Bomber Hunt, an undercover Boston detective car took 15 rounds of friendly fire due to a case of mistaken identity. The press hushed this up.

Now two things stuck in my mind: 1) 15 high power rounds unleashed in a Boston neighborhood at an ill-defined target and 2) all those rounds missed the two occupants thankfully.

e.g. reference to “boys” and “toys”.
