A female horse-rider who was refused service in the drive-through lane of a McDonald’s while in the saddle, subsequently led the animal inside, where it defecated on the floor.

CCTV showed the woman and her daughter taking their pet into the restaurant after they were told they had to tie it up.

But then customers in the restaurant looked on in astonishment as the animal “ended up doing his business on the floor.”

The woman was issued with a fine after the incident at the branch on Bury New Road in Whitefield, Greater Manchester, last Saturday.

Police were called to the scene.

A statement issued by Greater Manchester Police’s Whitefield Division read: “On Saturday, July 20, police from Whitefield received a call from McDonald's on Fountain Place regarding a woman on horse using the drive thru.

Lord Bowler had an idea for riding one’s horse to a window for getting food to go in a Brisco County episode.

He’s lucky the horse wasn’t seized and turned into Big Macs.

I live in Delaware and can’t recall any stories about Amish people trying to get their buggies through a drive-in.

The world is filled with strange people.

There are many people spending a lot of money feeding animals who wouldn’t give a sandwich to a starving man.

I was a bldg contractor in Wilmington, NC back in the 80's. One of the bldg Inspectors ( a good guy, but a drunk!) got ticketed for DUI while riding his horse at Wrightsville Beach, while quite inebriated...

His horse got tied to a light pole! He got thrown into the tank!

...not the horse in the article!

Same here. I've seen bicycles go through. I'd be ticked too if they hadn't served me, although bringing the animal indoors was probably the wrong response. Should've just taken her money elsewhere.

You won't serve me at the window so I'll bring him in here and do this!

Stupid and criminal but with a rebel spirit that shows a dash of the irony and the absurd.

It’s discrimination, I tell ya’. A person shouldn’t have to leave their seeing-eye horse outside. The horse helps them pick from the menu. The American Disabilities Act surely covers this.

And I thought dog owners were wacky about their pets. (and they are) But I have to say this tops my two worst restaurant stories (basically the same event done by two different women at two different times in two different restaurants - dairy cafeteria at Cornell U. and Everybody's in Decatur)

Short of is is they plopped their diapered offspring on a table and changed a #2 diaper right where everyone was eating while smirking about it. I'm sure a hose can drop a lot larger load than a small child although to be fair, the horse didn't do it on a table.

Get a little horsesh*t, give a little...

As someone who knows a guy who got a DUI on a mule (hey! the mule knew the way home and enough to stay out of traffic), I think they probably should have served her at the drive-through.

Who would want to incur the possible liabilities of leaving a horse tied up outside unattended (they kick, they bite)? Not to mention the chance of some jerk hurting the horse?

subsequently led the animal inside, where it defecated on the floor.

Probably better than half the "hamburgers" they were cooking.
