Eliot Spitzer, the former New York governor and New York City comptroller candidate, says he has not visited a prostitute since 2008, when it was revealed the Democrat was a client for a high-price prostitution ring. The Wall Street Journal reports:
A day after Anthony Weiner acknowledged that he continued sending lewd messages to women even after he resigned from Congress, former Gov. Eliot Spitzer said he hadn’t used prostitutes after his own downfall in 2008.
“Absolutely not,” Mr. Spitzer said when asked at a campaign stop at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal Wednesday if he had been with prostitutes after his resignation as governor of New York. “And we’re done answering those questions.”
Mr. Spitzer was on his second day of meeting with voters as he campaigns to become the next city comptroller. As he seeks forgiveness from voters for his own scandal, Mr. Spitzer said Wednesday that he did not think Tuesday’s revelations about Mr. Weiner would affect his candidacy.
“Look, I’m running my own campaign and have been since the day I got into this,” he said. ”So I’m gonna have no comment about that other than I’m gonna be talking to voters about what I have done and what my plans are.”
And this is his most important qualification for office? It is a sad, sad, depth to which this nation has fallen. Spitzer should be laughed off of the platform.

It was the hypocricy of prosecuting prostitutes and customers while simultaneously using them.
I was following Spitzer's career at the time via WSJ editorials about how he was using the threat of prosecutions of likely innocent Wall Street executives, in order to further his career.

I just heard Rush play an ad that Spitzer has airing. Spitzer talks about how he went after Wall Street, and stopped their lying & cheating. I couldn’t help but laugh since he lied to, and cheated on his wife and family. It’s always easy to point the finger at the other guy while you are basically doing the same thing. Hypocrite.
