“That statement just shows you don’t have a clue what Texas is about. Texas is much more than home.”
Really? So enlighten me. I found the story about your ancestor interesting and it gives some insight. And I appreciate it. Telling non-Texans that they simply can’t understand isn’t particularly helpful. And you might be surprised.
“Your arguments have some validity, but if a SHTF scenario hits, Id rather have a Texas currency than a U.S one. Thusly there would be a good strong argument for secession at that point.”
I’d rather have gold or silver if given the choice in a SHTF scenario. But even that depends on how much “S” “H’s” the “F.” If you’re talking a post-apocalyptic mad-Max sort of hell, then money is the least of your concerns. A pile of money or a stack of gold isn’t going to buy you a ham sandwich.
Oh no, you misunderstand... that’s just America getting a beat down. It’s a culture thing.
(do I really need to say it?)
I would think Holder would have more sense than to start a general assault on states’ rights in Texas.
If our Republican Reps had testicles instead of ovaries, there would a chance of implementing your excellent suggestion. Regrettably, that’s not the case.
I believe it is.
One of the things the Romney supporters were pushing was his repeal
of obamacare, either (a) outright, or (b) via issuance of exemptions to all the states.
Both are very bad: for (a) the president cannot lawfully repeal a law,so endorsing that option is a vote for even more lawlessness; as for (b), that provides a method for him, or a future president, to extort the States by threatening/enacting a revocation of exemption(s), thereby amassing more power in the presidency and at the cost of state sovereignty.
Remember: Romney and Obama are both socialistic statists — we were offered a lose-lose choice by the Democrat/Republican Party.
“...we were offered a lose-lose choice by the Democrat/Republican Party.”
no... just a loser choice since the outcome was predetermined all along. It’s all just a dog and pony show, ya know.
Barack Mitt Obama Romney | | | | | | Revolutionary Fabian Socialist Socialist | | \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / v | Implements Socialism
Yep, the outcome was predetermined with the selection of Romney as the Republican candidate.
Any sense he may have is smothered by his ideological arrogance.
“...LOL! Theres been a fair amount of jawboning about it....”
There’s a lot more than just “jawboning” going on.
The grassroots efforts of the Texas Nationalist Movement has picked up momentum and, more importantly, lots of new members. It’s still small but these kinds of federal antics increase attention to the cause etc. At some point, that movement will become a political force with voice.
You can google it or Facebook search it. Pick your poison. Visit the webpage and read all about it....just like withholder and odongo probably do. Personally, I think this is one of the many reasons why they’re picking a fight with Texas.
There is that. Perhaps a state full of pissed-off Texans will help his brains migrate back North.
Holder knows exactly what he’s doing. Obama’s speech the other day was not a prediction; it was an indirect order.
“Social tensions will rise.”
Maybe he’s only been to Houston.
It is.
I can see you're the type to have the last word no matter how meaningless. You're also the type to tear down Republicans under the guise of honesty, the one who needs to "point out" the candidates flaws.
Well I saw where that got us in 2012 and 2014 is definitely going to be our last shot at stopping this totalitarian government. No candidate is going to be perfect or is going to please all the people all the time. We need to work with what we have and take our government back.
So I'm not going to do the back and forth about candidates in 2014. Not going to help splinter the GOP side while Dems stand solid and win. This will be my last reply to this kind of thing.
But hey, you have fun with it and May the odds be EVER in your favor 1
I assume this means the end of illegal voting, fraudulent registrations, multiple balloting, etc.
I know that was said tongue in cheek but we can’t even convince the spineless b*s*a*ds to defund Obamacare.
I’m confused about your color sense and that of those who commented. I thought that the media colored Republican states red and left wing states blue and this color scheme was generally accepted by Repubicans. I also thought that Texas was and will probably remain, a red state. What am I getting wrong?
You and I have never met.
"You're also the type to tear down Republicans under the guise of honesty, the one who needs to "point out" the candidates flaws."
The gop candidates seem to do a pretty good job of tearing themselves down and exposing their own flaws. Rick Perry being an excellent example. He's just not in the same league as nancy pelosi or anthony weiner.
"Well I saw where that got us in 2012 and 2014 is definitely going to be our last shot at stopping this totalitarian government."
You're about 10-15 years late. Panem is already here.
So I'm not going to do the back and forth about candidates in 2014. Not going to help splinter the GOP side while Dems stand solid and win.
You aren't getting it. There is no meaningful difference between the gop wing of the uniparty and the 'rat win of the uniparty. They stand for the same things. The blue versus red con job is political theater intended to serve as distraction and drive wedges.
Think about this for a moment. Do you really believe that things would be all that different if Mitt Romney had won last year? Do you really believe that MassCare Mitt would have gotten rid of owebamacare? Do you really believe that spending would have been significantly reduced or fiscal sanity restored with Mitch McConnell as majority leader?
"This will be my last reply to this kind of thing."
If it makes you happy, sure.
"But hey, you have fun with it and May the odds be EVER in your favor!"
Panem et circenses.
I also thought that Texas was and will probably remain, a red state. What am I getting wrong?
Texas >is< a red state. I said if Texas >becomes< a blue state, it’s over.
I agree with you in that the leftist states should have been called “red” states.
General Forrest, an excellent point, terse and well crafted! I think I will make the same point on my congressman's facebook page.
