A wave of vandalism continued to mar some of Washington’s more popular landmarks Monday with at least three more attractions spattered with green paint, and authorities announced the arrest of a woman near one of the incidents at Washington National Cathedral.

The latest crimes occurred three days after the Lincoln Memorial was hit in similar fashion. On Monday, the light-green paint was discovered on an organ in the cathedral’s Bethlehem Chapel, in the cathedral’s Children’s Chapel and on the granite base of a statue next to the Smithsonian Castle on the Mall.

D.C. police said Monday evening that they had charged Jiamei Tian, 58, whom they believe to be homeless, with one count of defacing property.

Might be a real name. Probably doesn’t mean anything like that in her own country though.

There was a Dharma and Greg episode where Dharma’s dad painted his tally hacker green. The idea came from a GI who got out of active duty that way.

It’s real!... and it’s probably pretty reasonable for her country. Adding to confusion maybe on our part is that in some oriental cultures the family name is listed first not second, but again we ourselves popularly identify chefs by various names (e.g. Emeril [Lagasse] but also [Paula] Deen).

I don’t think in her culture however they call [you know what] “Poo.” That may be an Americanism.

exactly.

In a lot of those countries family name goes first. In Korea your family name could be Bong, Bang, Ma, Noh, Oh or a number of other things (although Kim (also “Gim”), Park (”Pak”) and Lee (”ee”) take up close to half of them)

I guess Poo is just another name in Thailand.

Don’t like vandalism, but can’t get too worked up over a place that rang its bells for an hour after the recent sc gay marriage rulings. Have they performed ‘gay marriages’ there? I have found some things that said they would back in 2009 but don’t know if it is happening/happened.

For $27 (US dollar) shipped from Australia (plus whatever your bank charges to do a foreign purchase, maybe 5-10%) why not? I think I might love the idea of cooking with Poo! (If I can do it on an electric range.)

I went to the link and looked at the frequently asked question. No one asked “do you use your own poo?” “what kind of poo do you use?” “where does the best poo come from?” “is baby poo the best?”. All reasonable questions. Those are all things I would need to know before I signed up for her poo cooking classes.

Hey, I have found a great way to do super hot stir fry though. Use a sturdy nonstick aluminum stock pot on a burner that’s good and red hot, and don’t set the oil on fire.

That is so wrong.

I am not moving to the slums of Bangkok to take a cooking class.

The cat variety, I am told is especially prized by many dogs. If it weren’t for the risk of ingesting clay particles, that would be a way of keeping the cat box clean assuming the dog is patient enough to wait till the cat leaves it. Natural recycling... I bet the wolves do it for wild cats in the wild.

How do you know it’s slums and not some ritzy gated community there? Did you look via Google Maps and do the street view?
