Karl Rove, 100+ GOP Donors Send Letter to Republicans Urging Immigration Reform

by Tony Lee 30 Jul 2013, 6:18 AM PDT post a comment

Karl Rove and more than one hundred Republican donors sent a letter to Republican members of Congress on Tuesday, urging them to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would include, among other provisions, granting "legal status" to illegal aliens who meet certain criteria.

Anticipating that lawmakers will face resistance to the bill when they go home for the August recess, the letter marks the escalation of a campaign in which Republican leaders and donors are pressuring House Republicans to act on an immigration reform bill.

The letter begins: “We write to urge you to take action to fix our broken immigration system.” According to the New York Times, those who have signed include Rove; "former Vice President Dan Quayle; Tom Stemberg, a founder of Staples; and Frank VanderSloot, the founder of Melaleuca Inc." Romney campaign finance director Spencer Zwick was also signed the letter.

The Times reports that Carlos Gutierrez, former Commerce Secretary for President George W. Bush and a founder of the Republicans for Immigration Reform super PAC, organized the effort. Gutierrez, who has said in the past that English should not be the official language of government, said the letter was "the beginning of a campaign to lobby Republican lawmakers in favor of a broad immigration bill as they return to their districts for the August break."

The choice is theirs. Money or votes.

If they get the money but no votes they lose access to the money.

Money or votes.

The question is who is really behind the money. Must be those that want R's to LOSE the votes. Forever. And... ever.

Better get to sendin’em’at money then there, you 100 donors, because they are certainly going to need it, especially with the architect of Obama’s two term presidency trying to drive, again.

Maybe the DNC wrote these letters using the stuff they’ve gleaned from conservative web sites.

It’s easy with today’s technology to fake a hundred letters..

Typical RINO, destroying Conservatisism by running his sick ideological thought through the media and the GOP. Rove needs to move to the third world.

Boy would I love to get this guy in a room and give him a lecture.
If he thinks these 100 donors are tough, he hasn’t seen tough.

"Karl Rove, 100+ GOP Donors Send Letter to Republicans Urging Immigration Reform..."

..... 100 plus donors eh? I don't know what the ratio is that that represents .... And I don't know about you but isn't that kind of a low number? Heck ..... If Rove figures that is a significant number I wonder what his reaction would be to tens or even hundreds of thousands of letters saying they are against Immigration reform?

We don’t care who they vote for.

Just keep that cheap labor rolling across the border.

Whatever form the bill takes the illegals cannot be voting citizens for at least two decades. Give them some legal status to work here, but immediately deport them AND their families if they so much as spit on the sidewalk. They should have NO access to any welfare programs, Medicaid or Obamacare and must pay fees for their kids to attend public schools. Failure to register as an illegal should mean a couple of years in a detention facility before deportation and forever bars them and their families from ever coming here legally.

The GOP deludes themselves that participating in any amnesty bill will gain them Hispanic votes. These illegals will vote 90% Democrat no matter what and the Dems will give them all sorts of freebies to get them on the plantation just like they have for the Blacks.

Why am I even still voting? I used to think think people were nuts when they’d say ‘all these guys are the same’. I think except for maybe the abortion issue they are the same. Just one big happy cabal swimming in their nonsense.

Where are all the “Rove - you magnificent bastard!” FReepers now? He’s a snake and a sell-out who wants to preserve his insider status with the GOP-e at the expense of our freedom.

Choose the money and lose elections for the next generation, not just the base, but the 50+ Million new demonicrat voters. Rove and Co. would finish the working middleclass, who would find themselves jobless when a new cheaper labor force invades the market.

They sent me a very wordy “survey” with carefully worded questions that a real conservative would say yes to. Then the hit for donation.

I filled out the survey, sent it back on their dime and commented to them on the form to:

1. Quit giving lip service to the legitimate issues they bring up in their survey.
2. Adopt the Tea Party agenda and favored candidates or no money ever.
3. Say NO to any immigration reform scheme, enforce the laws and the Constitution.
4. Aggressively investigate the various scandals in full.
5. Absolutely defund obamacare in full and do it now.
6. Grow some balls and stop treating democrats as if they are friends, they are not; stop supporting Graham, McCain, the Bushes, and the rest of the spineless losers they have been promoting.

Now I don’t believe they care what I wrote and if there is no money involved they will probably not consider any of my responses but at least they gave me the chance to flame their worthless asses.

100 people who write big checks are for amnesty.

Hundreds of millions of American Voters are against it.

Clear to see who has the upper hand in this battle.

Or is it?
