Waffle House Patron Shoots Unsuspecting Armed Robber
Mr. Conservative ^ | 8/1/13 | Kristin Tate

On Monday morning, a robber walked into an Atlanta Waffle House and pointed a gun at patrons. The crook was wearing a bandana and hoodie, according to reports.

Everyone in the restaurant undoubtably saw their lives flash before their eyes. That is, until one Waffle House patron pulled out his own gun and fired at the bandit.

The suspect is Ashton Macafee, 20. After entering the Waffle House, he screamed. “Nobody move and open the cash register!” The incident happened around 2am in south Fulton County.

The man who fired back at Macafee, and likely saved the lives of some innocent patrons, was an off-duty security guard named Evans Chad Pollard. He fired two shots at Macafee, hitting him both times. Pollard said, “I felt that not only my life, but everyone’s life was in danger, so I had to do what I had to do. Everybody was scared and when I eliminated the threat, everyone felt calm. He came in and I did what I could.”

He continued, “As soon as he pointed [the gun] at us I’m like, I thought I was going to die right there.”

Pollard said he used to be a firefighter before becoming a security guard.

Macafee did not die as a result of the gunshots, but he is currently in critical condition in the hospital.

Thankfully, Pollard has not been charged with anything for shooting the crook. This man is a hero, and should be treated as such.

More evidence that shows stand your ground laws benefit Black people. Actually it benefits all decent law abiding people regardless of color. G-d bless Evans Chad Pollard.

Fine with how it went down, but to be accurate, you can’t “fire back” at someone who hasn’t fired their weapon.

The writer wrote stupidly there.

too bad he didn’t send him to God. glad he’s been put down for a long time, though. he’ll always be a terror to the rest of society though.

You can predict the future for this guy. His bill from the hospital will likely exceed $40,000. He won’t pay it.

The sentence handed down from the court? Likely to be less than ten years, and with good behavior...he gets out at seven years.

His wounds? They will heal to some degree but I’m betting that this wound bothers him for decades.

people need to practice head shots more often. lower the target so there’s less chance it would hit the metal holding rod.

I'm glad Chad Evans was armed, and prepared to use his firearm to save lives.

However, the writer's reporting is hysterical and Victorian. The only thing missing was, "Alas, dear reader, it is possible that the Demon Rum was involved in the heinous criminal undertaking. It is best that you should ne'er partake of it's evil and vicious effects."

It's not a credible post that belongs on FR.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/07/30/waffle-house-armed-robber-gets-the-surprise-of-a-lifetime-when-customer-decides-to-fight-back-with-a-gun/

Chad was sitting in a booth with an off-duty Atlanta police officer who couldn’t get to his gun before Chad pulled his, shot and hit the assailant wearing a hoodie.

Where’s the antiZimmerman crowd now?

In which case he will be “disabled”, and get SSI for the rest of his life.

As one who lives in Atlanta and frequents Waffle House...this moron would stand a better chance robbing a bank. There are more guns at any given time in a Waffle House than a square city block.
If you have a death wish walk into a Waffle House and announce that this is a stick up

people need to practice head shots more often.

Not necessarily in a crowded restaurant, more likely to hit someone behind.

"Pollard said he used to be a firefighter before becoming a security guard." Another example of a cop wannabe just like Zimmerman. Only real police should be allowed to carry guns. Then we would all be safe.

This incident has nothing to do with "stand your ground."
