Channon Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom, 23
Crime took place Jan. 6, 2007.
There was very little lsmsm news on this horrific crime, I will not post the details, you will have to go read about the torture deaths of these two fine looking young people.

I do not usually post these articles as I am the parent of a murdered child, it may have been 26 years ago, but it still hurts. But I would like to see some justice for Channon and Christopher.
Ping list please.
Warning this horrendous story is worthy of any of the horrors you read about the Nazi’s committing.
This crime simply went to media oblivion. I heard there was a scandal with one of the judges handling the case. I think he even went to jail. It is coming to the point that no black can be found guilty of any crime. People are going to have to relearn how to “Trayvon” their attackers.
There's really little use in railing about double standards. They exist and are not going anywhere. The media ceased to be a watchdog decades ago.
If I’m not mistaken, and I stand corrected, the ring leader got death, the other 4 savages got life sentences because according to the DA, they couldn’t find their DNA on Adam (what was left of him) and Channon. The person who got death has asked for a new trial. I don’t know if he was granted one. I can’t hardly look at his demonic face to see if he got one. Talk about a travesty of justice this one takes the cake! God bless their families.....I can’t even imagine the pain they will go through the rest of their lives. :(
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Several of the cases are under review for re-trail last I heard. It seems the judge who precided over the cases had a major drug addiction issue and was arrested for same. That scandal in itself has more turns and sub plots than can be explained. An outside judge was called in to deal with the arrested judge and a plea bargain was made basically for conviction on lesser charges. The Feds came in and got him on federal charges and he went to Club Fed for a few months.
Then that same judge took over the arrested judges cases and began a review of the convictions in this case. Last I heard I think two lesser involved got new trials. This too was a mess. The state courts IIRC tried to tell the judge unless there was serious error the charges stand. A new judge finally took over the reviewing of the cases. I’m not sure but I think the two main persons were unheld convictions.
It was a Knoxville murder with the car jacking likely taking place in the Whittle Springs or Alice Bell neighborhood. It used to be a safe neighborhood. By the early 1980’s it could be kinda rough. I used to work there then. But areas of it were reasonablly safe. The murder tortures took place less than two miles away. Basically Whittle Springs sits on a hill and the killings took place at the bottom of it in a very rough area. I do not go in that area unless I carry day or night. I have a family member who works very close to where it happened and sometimes I have to go late at night to get him.
I read the story. Animals that do not garner the level of human debris!
The reason the case attracted so little media attention was because Christian and Newsom were white. All of their attackers were black. Somehow investigators concluded that racial hostility was not a factor in the crimes.
Eff the racist race baiting New York Times and all the liberal sycophant newspapers that 'follow' them...
If Christian and Newsom had been black, and they had been raped, tortured, and murdered by a group of white people, the victims names would be painfully seared into the national psyche by the medias saturation coverage of the atrocities and their aftermath.

” Somehow investigators concluded that racial hostility was not a factor in the crimes. “
Yeah....”somehow”
Unfortunately I know their pain, it never truly goes away, and I had no where near the horror these parents had to endure. My Jeremy’s killer just got a plea deal, and I had to fight 6 parole hearings, the first 10 months after sentencing of 20 yrs, by fighting dirty I eked out 14.5 years, that counts the 2 yrs he spent awaiting that plea deal, cut by a gop ADA, who later became the county DA. I refused to vote for him.
GailA, I am so sorry for your loss. How horrible! I get so damned aggravated with these DA’s and ADA’s and cutting deals. They give in to pressure too easily IMHO. We need tough DA’s especially in this day and time. Again, I’m so sorry. :(
