SC Senator Lindsey Graham Needs To Be Replaced In 2014 & Here’s Why
Freedom Outpost ^ | July 23, 2013 | Joshua Cook

Posted on 08/02/2013 11:44:58 AM PDT by upchuck

When the Palmetto State elected Lindsey Graham, we got the moderate GOP senator we didn’t want. He has been the poster boy, along with John McCain, for unprincipled leadership and represents everything wrong with the modern Republican Party. In the past few months alone, he’s irritated people across the political spectrum with numerous actions from helping pen the recent amnesty bill to advocating boycotting the Olympics if NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden wasn’t turned over by Russian authorities. When all is said and done, Graham needs to be unseated and replaced with someone like Senator Jim DeMint.

The one consistent aspect of Graham’s voting record is his opposition to conservative issues. He can vote for whatever sounds good at the time and change the next time if public outcry is strong enough, but he doesn’t come to the table with ideas on how to make things better.

DeMint clearly did and that helped him enjoy the kind of success he did as a Senator and now as head of the Heritage Foundation. He could stand for something and vote on his principles rather than side with what is popular that day.

Graham is very good communicating to low-information Republicans. He will say one thing to the Republicans at the conferences and the dinners playing to his conservative base but behind the scenes he plots with Democrats to pass liberal legislation.

I wonder how many times Obama and Grahamnesty have shared a steam bath together? Bottoms up!

Two questiona for the always knowledgeable group:

1.Assuming that we succeed in beating Graham in the primary, what are SC's rules on him registering to then run as an independent. Can he still do so after the primary? Could he try to pull a Murkowski?

2. Does anyone have a link that explains, hopefully in not too great detail..how SC's open primary system works..especially the rules and dates fro how and when a Democrat or and Independent gets to vote in the GOP primary.

And one more, if y'all would kindly indulge me:

What's Alvin Greene been up to lately?

That censure was in 2009. Here we are four years later doing it again. Maybe this time it will stick.

Any chance at all yinz can coax Jim DeMint out of retirement...

Jim DeMint didn't retire. He took the CEO position at the Heritage Foundation. Doing a super job.

IMHO, DeMint left the Senate because he was tired of the Mickey Mouse shit. And I'm sure having to put up with Linda was not a pleasant chore.

I have already made a contribution to Nancy Mace. I hope others will consider doing the same. She will need nationwide support to win.

Unfortunately it looks like a crowded primary and that will only play into Graham’s hands.

That all depends on whether SC has primary runoffs or not. If they do, then a crowded primary is good. If not, as is the case in KY, it will be virtually impossible to unseat the incumbent. You can bet that the GOPe will be sure to load the KY GOP primary with stalking horses for McConnell.

Some probably think so. Others would say a barn would be quite a bit nicer. Thanks for asking.

You know...I'm flattered by your interest and curiosity, but, though I'm not married, don't have a girlfriend right now and haven't been dating lately, I'm still happy, but not gay, if that's where you're going with your interest.

My last girlfriend told me I should take that kind of interest as a compliment, so thanks anyway, I guess.

But, otoh, assuming you're really just curious about whether or not your Grahamnesty is a greater danger to our Republic than my state's two imminent and honorables combined?

Add a Burr plus a Hagan together, then subtract the total from your Grahamnesty and your guy still sucks worse than my state's rino and demonrat put together.

It's close, though, which is why my vote still has some use around here. To be honest, I'm probably just hiding my own personal shame, which is even greater than your Grahamnesty.

I should move back to Arizona and make amends for starting my voting career with votes for the even bigger insult, the one and only Juan McLame, our greatest embarrassment.

(He was a war hero, okay? I was a kid, it was my first time, how was I to know?)

Somehow, one of us has had a real bad misunderstanding somewhere along the line. Wow. Unplugging the computer now.

Good, then. Glad it was just a misunderstanding! Happy Friday!
