"... which will destroy [accomplish exactly what the globalist who placed the halfrican post turtle in the white hut intended] this country."

The Constitutional Republic that was America is no more. The demise has happened over a period of decades, but the final throat slitting occurred under little barry bastard boy emperor, because he was the only available turtle stupid enough to believe he would make himself 'non-expendable'. So they placed the racist drug addled sexual degenerate on the post and spewed their poison from his beak.

Americans, make your time. All your society are belong to devils.

If the McRubio-Schumer amnesty bill passes, we will bring in 33 million legal immigrants over the next ten years, which is more than we brought in over the previous 40 years. With 22 million Americans underemployed or unemployed, why are we doing this?

The kickbacks the pols are getting are worth more (to the pols) than this great nation? That's the only answer I can come up with, as this is absolute insanity.

Who pays the tariff?

Moslems and other America hating liberals...otherwise, people would vote with their pocketbooks.

It would certainly encourage domestic development. You could start with a modest rate and start ramping it up as domestic development increased.

Given a future business friendly power structure in DC, and since there is much untapped resource on federal lands, and since (theoretically) the American People own those mineral rights; why couldn't/shouldn't there be strings attached to the disposition of that oil?

Why should a lessee be able to sell that crude into the global market without an export penalty, when it could be dumped here to increase domestic supply and lower the cost?

Especially if that lessee happens to be a foreign interest.

We’ve got a bunch of idiot media who can’t figure out to ask, the phone call comes in at 3:42, and yet Panetta has no idea what he is supposed to do until 5:30? Who sat on that info and did nothing for that long?

The media is simply part of the op at this point. They will do what is necessary to protect the Comrade. Stalin would be jealous.

Which is that it’s not a good idea to encourage this sort of thing as we have a congress elected by the people for a reason.

The point really is also that if you have pro-American leadership then you can count on pro-American ops coming out of Langley.

—Like in the pre-Church Committee years when many of the world’s petty dictators were OUR petty dictators.

In fact, I’d go so far as to say that if JFK had it to do all over again knowing how it came out, Howard Hunt and the boys would have had all the air support they needed at Bay of Pigs. And Havana would be a helluva vacation destination today.

There’s a current thread up here discussing a report that Benghazi leads back to Iran, NOT alkida, and also one purporting that the CIA moved missiles out of Libya to Syria.

It would not surprise me if Iran proved to be al Qaeda’s number one stake-horse at this point. A lot of the Saudi money trails have fallen victim of post-9/11/2001 surveillance. The Iranians are much more difficult to track at this point.

In fact, now that Pennsylvania and Ohio allow “fracking,” the result is economies of BOTH states are starting to turn around, especially with natural gas production.

####

We can also imagine how much better the economies of the Gulf states (our Gulf of Mexico!} would be if Obama had not shut down oil production after the BP spill.

This scenario would mark the first time that natural increase was not the leading cause of population increase since at least 1850, when the census began collecting information about residents' country of birth.

This is a very misleading statement. Sounds like a version of the hockey stick view of earth temperatures.

Since this country started having European immigration in the 1600s, the expansion has happened with both native-born and immigrant residents. This census report would have us believe that immigration was a minor factor before 1850! Come on! It doesn't pass the smell test. To: Alas Babylon!; Fishtalk

Some thoughts that wandered through my mind in church this morning.

Media meme states that America is hated, so why do people from every other country on the planet want to settle here?

Media meme number 2: Americans are racially divided and white people are bigots.

Here is why these thoughts came to me —

My parish is in a traditionally working class neighborhood - Hampden - which did not collapse with the white exodus to the suburbs after WWII, because they were too poor to move to better locations. And because many worked locally in mills, there was a strong multi-generational community spirit.

These lower income people were ‘salt of the earth” types; hardworking and self-sufficient.
As city neighborhoods go, it was safe for all ages.

Now it is becoming a bit gentrified, due to its location, close to Johns Hopkins University, and not far from downtown.

So back to church:

Our pastor is a young charismatic born-Korean who came to the US with his parents when he was a small child.
Our organist is a Chinese woman who is a professor at The Peabody Institute.
Our alter servers come in many colors, from many different continents.
Our congregation is also multi-colored. For example, the three young people in the row behind me were Asian, and one bowed in a Japanese manner after the “Our Father”.

What do we have in common? Our love of the Church, and our comfort in this parish.

As I was musing about this situation, the final hymn was announced:

“In Christ there is no East or West”; melody adapted from an African-American spiritual

1. In Christ there is no east or west,
in him no south or north;
but one great fellowship of love
throughout the whole wide earth.

2. In Christ shall true hearts everywhere
their high communion find;
his service is the golden cord
close binding humankind.

3. (Words copr.)

4. In Christ now meet both east and west,
in him meet south and north;
all Christly souls are one in him
throughout the whole wide earth.

*****

How appropriate!

This is a very misleading statement. Sounds like a version of the hockey stick view of earth temperatures.

Nonsense. First, I suggest you go back to the link and read the entire press release from the Bureau of the Census. Trying to dismiss factual data sounds more like the way a liberal prefers to discuss issues. The press release puts the data projections in context. Population projections are based on data in much the same way as actuaries develop their projections. The data from the full census every ten years plus the annual community survey data have provided some very accurate projections over the years unlike those who asscribe global warming primarily to human beings.

Since this country started having European immigration in the 1600s, the expansion has happened with both native-born and immigrant residents. This census report would have us believe that immigration was a minor factor before 1850!

What nonsense. The statement, This scenario would mark the first time that natural increase was not the leading cause of population increase since at least 1850, when the census began collecting information about residents' country of birth indicates clearly that the 1850 date is used because that is when the census bureau started collecting information about a residents' country of birth. It never said it was a minor factor before that date.

What we do know is that it has never been the case since 1850 that immigration exceeded natural increase (births minus deaths) until the present day. If it happens between 2027 and 2038 as projected based on existing data and immigration policies, then it would be a huge occurrence. And if the McRubio-Schumer bill or anything like it passes, this will happen much sooner since the bill will bring in 33 million new permanent immigrants over the next ten years, which is more than the past 40 years combined. And add to that a doubling of the guest worker program that will double the 700,000 temporary work visas issued annually now.

Come on! It doesn't pass the smell test. I spend a lot of time on genealogy and family history research, and know that America has always had a large portion of its population growth because of people coming here to settle.

In my post #49 I provided a link to an article I wrote recently on the immigration issue. Whether you are aware of it or not, we have experienced over the past 40 years one of the greatest mass migrations in human history. We now have 40 million foreign-born in this country (a conservative figure). In 1970 one out of 21 was foreign born; today it is one in 8, the highest it has been in 90 years! And in less than a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history. The last two decades have been the highest two in our history in terms of numbers. Something very, very significant has been happening and most Americans are simply unaware of it.

I spend a lot of time on genealogy and family history research, and know that America has always had a large portion of its population growth because of people coming here to settle.

I have been working on this issue for the last 7 years. The immigration of the past is very different from what is happening today. As a result of the immigration act of 1965, the vast majority of our immigrants now come from the Third World. 87% of the legal immigrants are minorities as classified by the USG. Our immigration polices are bringing in primarily the poor and uneducated--not the skills we need to be competitive in the global economy. And do we really need 1.2 million legal immigrants every year when 20 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed? Immigrants use welfare programs to a much greater degree than the native born. They are helping to destroy our social safety net.

America needs to wake up to the facts about immigration. We prefer to romanticize it rather than analyzing its impact on our country. Legal immigration is more of a problem than illegal immigration. Demography is destiny.

Great stuff once again kabar.

As i have commented on in the past our immigration policy is so biased it makes one wonder if anyone still cares about the welfare of the entire country or not.

When you have huge percentage of immigrants coming in who take from the country rather than give to the country and the country is already in fiscal decline its a formula for disaster.

Billions around the world would come to the US if they had the chance.

To pick only those who illegally get here as the winners to get citizenship and ignore those who could help the country from all over the world is ignorant and stupid and puts the country in decline. Exactly what the regime wants.

I just looked at the census website and saw that the count for the 2010 census was 308,745,538.

Are you seriously telling me that 12% of that number were not born in the US?

12% = 38.5million

That is a selective interpretation of immigration numbers.
Also look at the numbers for the late nineteenth century.
1880 census: 50,189,22209
1890 census: 62,947,714
Approximately 5 million immigrants between 1881 and 1890 meant that almost one in ten residents was an immigrant in that decade.

&&&

All of this discussion does not take away from the fact that our system of immigration is seriously broken, and has been for at least 3 decades. I just don't like anyone using selective stats to project a desired result.

Right now there are 316 million people in this country

Are you seriously telling me that 12% of that number were not born in the US? 12% = 38.5million

Absolutely. It is more than that. It was 12.4% in 2010 but edging closer to 13% now. How can you continuously deny the facts? If anything the numbers are understated. These are official government figures. The USG estimates that there are 11 million illegal aliens but other estimates are much higher. The 40-plus million includes the 11 million illegals.

We have more than 40 million foreign born in this country. We add about 1.5 million net each year. From 1860 to 1910, between 13 percent and 15 percent of people in the United States were born in another country. After 1910, the share of the population composed of the foreign born began a steady decline, falling to less than 5 percent by 1970. But that share has increased rapidly since 1970, reaching about 13 percent in the past few years. About 40 million foreign-born people now live in the United States.

All of this discussion does not take away from the fact that our system of immigration is seriously broken, and has been for at least 3 decades. I just don't like anyone using selective stats to project a desired result.

Seriously broken how? Be more specific on what you mean. You are mouthing the pro-amnesty rhetoric.

Selective stats? My God, are you serious? If you reject such basic information, no discourse is possible. What desired result am I after? What is your agenda?

Despite the cries of “You can’t just round up millions of people and deport them—we could.

How?

Get them to deport themselves.

Enforce the LAWS that are already on the books is step 1.

a. Jail time and fines for businesses knowingly hiring illegals.
b. Instant online searches the the Social Security Administration on any use of SSAN to get employment. Arrest those found using fraudulent numbers.
c. Absolutely NO assistance for any adult without an SSAN. See rule b. above.

Do these three things, and I predict millions of illegals will GO HOME. Simple as ABC....

Agreed. Attrition thru enforcement should be the strategy. Our immigration system is not "broken." Here is what needs to be done specifically:

Advocate a pro-immigrant policy of low immigration. Conservatives need to provide the American people with their own comprehensive immigration reform plan, i.e., give people a reason to vote FOR something rather than just attack the other side’s proposals. Such a plan should contain the following elements:

 Formulate a merit based immigration system that brings in the skills and talents to keep us competitive in the global economy;

 Reduce immigration levels based on need more closely approximating 300,000 a year;

 Eliminate extended chain migration, i.e., family reunification, limiting it to the nuclear family,

 Secure the border;

 Enforce existing immigration laws to reduce the current illegal alien population and limit future illegal immigration, i.e., attrition thru enforcement. Enforcement would include: (1) ending the job magnet; (2) increasing coordination at the federal level by eliminating barriers to information sharing among agencies; (3) leveraging state and local enforcement resources; (4) fully implementing the US-VISIT Program to track and deport visa overstays; and (5) make mandatory and improve such programs as E-Verify and 287 [g] authority to assist employers and law enforcement in identifying illegal aliens;

 Eliminate birthright citizenship and the visa lottery program;

 Ensure that anyone who enters this nation illegally is not rewarded by being permitted to stay and work here; i.e., no amnesty;

 Streamline the processing and adjudication of immigration cases;

 Promote pro-immigrant measures that help newcomers assimilate and embrace the values and principles of our Founders and the Constitution.

I am very aware of this fact. Yet you disputed my comment that our immigration system is broken and has been for at least 3 generations.

No argument with your final statement. Your penultimate sentence is shocking. Perhaps you could consider that the one million legal immigrants invited to become citizens every year are replacements for the one million abortions of potential native-born citizens.

Why do you dismiss the illegal immigration as being less of a problem? Having had a career in the state dept, which has the task of authorizing visas to foreigners, I would have thought that people sneaking in with minimal negative consequences, would have really irritated you. Do you leave your own doors unlocked?

I asked you for specifics on what was "broken." The pro-amnesty, open-borders types say this all the time. It has become code for comprehensive immigration reform. Yes, we need some reform, but the system is not broken. It is just not being enforced.

Nonsense. We are not having a population problem nor do we need a mass infusion of low skilled, uneducated immigrants. We have an abundant supply of our own. FYI: Our fertility rate is 2.06 children born/woman (2013 est.), which is just at about replacement level.

Yes abortion does affect our population growth. For example, there would be twice as many blacks as there are today. The black community is the biggest user of abortion services.

Why do you dismiss the illegal immigration as being less of a problem? Illegal immigration is a problem more easily solved than legal immigration. At least twice as many legal immigrants enter this country annually as illegal aliens. They are mostly the same kinds of people. Legal immigrants can vote, receive welfare services, vote, etc. Their impact is far greater on our society.

Legal immigration has become the third rail of American politics. You can't discuss it without being described as a nativist and racist. Like the proverbial frog being boiled slowly alive on the stove, legal immigration is insidiously destroying this country. Immigration to America is a privilege, not a right, and our immigration policies should serve the best interests of this country.

If you want a chilling picture of how unemployment is affecting young Americans, read this: Jobless Rate for Poor Black Teen Dropouts? Try 95 Percent

"If you're a high school dropout you're talking about 30 percent working. Among high school grads who graduated from high school in the last three years -- we do a separate survey of them the fall after graduation -- 45 percent of them held a job, the lowest in the last 50 years we've been collecting this data. And to make it worse, of that 45 percent, only half of them were able to get a full-time job. Only one in five young high school grads, not in college, [is] working full-time.

And we are now talking about bringing in 33 million more legal immigrants over the next ten years--most of them with a high school degree or less. This is pure insanity on so many levels.

He [Rush] squelched the idea of a third party as being a guarantee of RAT dominance for eternity.

He has always been opposed to that, just like he has always decried people claiming to be political Independents.

The trouble is, the GOP does not even exhibit dominance when they own the Senate, the House and the Presidency. But all 3 keep moving leftward, just more slowly than the Dems.

Rush should declare that most "anti-third party premises" are wrong: right now, there aren't two parties. There's a majority party, with a bunch of GOPe, anti-tea party (NOT anti-Dem) careerists. A "Third Party" would be a "Second Party."

That is what I call broken. And I do not speak in code, I say what I mean. I am not for amnesty, I am not for any program that plans to bring in 33 million more immigrants in the next ten years.

Okay?

25 years ago my husband and I sailed into San Diego in our boat that had a huge Welsh Dragon painted on each bow, and a Canadian flag painted on each side of the hull at the stern. An INS agent surmised that we were sneaking in, in broad daylight, and harassed us for three days, hoping that he could fine us as the San Diego office had fined other Canadian flag yachts at about the same time.

I recognized that he was getting job satisfaction by harassing middle-class Caucasians, because the situation at California's border was uncontrollable -no job satisfaction at all.

That is what I mean by broken. Wheel-spinning, ineffectiveness, and bullying of the vulnerable.

Marco Rubio, John McCain, Lindsey Graham,, Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin, etc. also say that the system is broken. What they propose will not make it better, but rather, exacerbate the situation. When you adopt the lexicon of the left, you can expect misunderstandings as to where you stand.

I am not for amnesty

How do you define the word amnesty? Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio say their plan is not amnesty. Do you support Cantor's proposed bill on Dreamers?

I recognized that he was getting job satisfaction by harassing middle-class Caucasians, because the situation at California's border was uncontrollable -no job satisfaction at all.

Judge Dismisses ICE Agents' Lawsuit Challenging Obama's Deferred Action

"In his decision to dismiss the case, O’Connor, sitting in Dallas, Texas, nonetheless reiterated his view that DACA was inherently unlawful."

“Plaintiffs were likely to succeed on the merits of their claim that the Department of Homeland Security has implemented a program contrary to congressional mandate,” he said in his ruling."

The problem is that the political leadership of the Executive Branch will not let the agents enforce the laws despite the fact that the President has sworn to faithfully execute the laws of the United States of America.

The National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council of the American Federation of Government Employees, includes at least 7,000 ICE agents and employees, voted a resounding 259-0 for a resolution telling management of their "growing dissatisfaction and concern" of Assistant Secretary John Morton, who now heads ICE. The vote of no confidence also reached to Phyllis Coven, assistant director for the ICE agency's office of detention policy and planning as well.

The resolution implied that ICE management had "abandoned the agency's core mission of enforcing U.S. immigration laws and providing for public safety," the voting body thought they (ICE leadership) were more likely "to campaign for programs and policies related to amnesty and the creation of a special detention system for foreign nationals that exceeds the care and services provided to most U.S. citizens similarly incarcerated.”

That is what I mean by broken. Wheel-spinning, ineffectiveness, and bullying of the vulnerable.

Bullying of the vulnerable? BS. Who are the vulnerable?
