Renters at an apartment community just south of Denver are between a rock and a hard place, ordered by their landlord to either get rid of their weapons or move out.
The manager at Oakwood Apartments in Castle Rock, Colo., sent a notice to renters last week advising them of the new rule banning all firearms and weapons from the premises, a local news station reported.
Residents have until Oct. 1 to comply. The rule has one worried and outraged.
Art Dorsch, 77, a Marine Corps veteran and avid hunter with a concealed carry permit, said he lives on a fixed income and cant afford to move. But he said managers gave him three options: willingly remove the guns and stay, keep the guns and move, or keep the guns and wait to be forced to leave.
It upsets me very much, he told the station. They want to take them all away from me. They say I cant live here.

Private property and all that.
Been updated. Policy has been canceled because the propery management was overruled by the property owners.
Federally subsidized apartment complex. Management has backed down when challenged on this.
Cool - I stand corrected.
Back-Door violations of the USCON are becoming more routine AND more accepted by a weenie-populace.
When children are suspended for pointing a finger or piece of gun-shaped bread, you know the anti-2A propaganda is “kinda catapulted” in the right direction.
This article is outdated. There’s been news out today that the idiots realized they were wrong and they CAN’T ban guns.
(That Constitution is sure a pesky thing, huh?)
Mission Accomplished, damage done....To the psyches of wimpish, brow-beaten Americans.
This is part of a PsyOps brainwashing campaign.
Got a link?
I saw an update on assbook that said they changed their tune and he will be able to keep them.
Colorado needs to succeed from Denver!

It seems Colorado isn’t taking as well to the socialist class as had been expected.
I’m thinking some folks that live there might end up having a boat accident soon.
(Inside FReeper reference for those who are stumped)
“secondly the right of the owner to control his property as per his/her standards’
I would think legally you have to look at the context of the service provided by a property owner. Ban pets, smoking, loud music - yes. Are guns in that realm?
Sorry. I went looking for it. Naturally all the alphabet networks ae still schilling the lies.
It takes a local site to report the truth.

Castle Rock apartment’s controversial policy banning firearms is thrown out
CASTLE ROCK - A controversial gun policy at an apartment complex for seniors has been thrown out after a 9Wants to Know report.
The Douglas County Housing Partnership, a multi-jurisdictional housing authority, held an emergency board of directors meeting late Wednesday afternoon.
Board members decided that the policy, which would have prohibited residents from having firearms in their homes, will not go into effect.
The Douglas County Housing partnership owns Oakwood Apartments in Castle Rock. It was purchased with federal funds and is supported by local, state, and federal tax dollars.

Not really a problem. The right of the property owner is important, however, the limitations cannot be made after the fact.
I would not have a problem if they said “no guns allowed”, or “no gays allowed” as an understanding before the signing of a contract.
But to move someone in and then make up a new rule is ridiculous. Just common sense.
As in Low Income??
My son lives in Castle Rock and I've never seen any low income/depressed area there. Don't know the area intimately though. Beautiful, and expensive.
