CNN's Athena Jones investigates if Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is eligible to run for president. CNN says the "natural-born citizen" question is dogging Cruz. For the record, CNN said every constitutional law expert they interviewed for said Cruz is a natural-born citizen and eligible to be president.

His Mother was a natural born American and unlike Obama’s mother she did nothing to alienate herself and her son from the United States.

Cruz himself wouldn’t put himself out there if he wasn’t eligible. The man is a gifted Constitutional scholar and he wouldn’t flush his reputation down the toilet by trying to pull a Hussein.

I really LIKE Ted Cruz, but if I do not apply the same Constitutional Standard to him as I have for the last five years to you-know-who, I would be a hypocrite. (SIGH)

The “precedence” does seem to be established.

Sure the mother is an American citizen, but what date, how long, etc... because the statutes changed IN REGARDS TO MOTHER’S CONFERRING CITIZENSHIP TO A CHILD BORN IN ANOTHER COUNTRY TO A NON-CITIZEN FATHER.

It’s the same questions with Zero. If Zero was born abroad, and if Stanley Ann Dunham is his mother, she could not have conferred citizenship to a foreign born son.

Section 301 (a)(7) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 was the relevant citizenship law at the time of Zero’s birth....requirement was that the parent had to have been physically present in U.S. at least 19 years old to confer citizenship. She was born Nov 29, 1942 and was 18.

Has it even been determined if Cruz was a U.S. citizen at birth?

“Anyone of German lineage can make a claim to German citizenship.”

You are mistaken. It was not German citizenship at birth for descendants of German ancestors. It was a very limited right of return and entitlement to naturalize as a German citizen for certain limited classes of German descendants affected by certain treaties concerning refugees and displaced persons. The right of return did not confer German citizenship at birth.

Yes Ted Cruz is a NBC. I’m so sick and tired of people saying he is not a NBC with absolutely no basis, only there idiotic opinion of what they think a NBC should be, not what a NBC really is. So stupid.

Well if he was not a citizen at birth then his mother would have had to apply for citizenship for him. Anyone who has to apply for citizenship would not be ‘natural born.’
But if not then he is natural born.

If you look more carefully, it is also based on a Nazi law which has never been rescinded. Indeed, the right is limited but not only to the Volga Germans et al. from the east. To be sure, it would not at all be easy for an American, say, to establish a claim, but the right exists if only residually. Blood does count.

And what did they intended but completely to insure that George Washington would be the first President and to deny the office to a foreign prince? He was the most certain to be a republican.

Not that simple. My first son was born in Portugal and we were advised to naturalize him because of the remote possibility that when he came of age, Portugal might claim him for some purpose.

I don’t believe a person who was born in a foreign country, i.e. Canada, from a non citizen Cuban father at the time, especially a father who had some kind of association with Castro, could be a ‘natural born’ USA citizen even though the mother apparently kept her USA citizenship. Surely the father weighs in as much as the mother. Indeed, It can be argued that it is then OK to accept two young Muslim men who were born of a USA resident Muslim family, i.e. Morsi, on the basis of credentials if the Constitution is to be twisted.

Again, you are mistaken. The NAZI laws were rrepealed by the Federal Rrepublic of Germany. There were previous laws, such as those for the Huegenots. The treaty of nantes for example. The Reich made major changes to such laws in 1913. The NAZI reforms came and went, leaving earlier and later Right of Return laws in effect. With the most recent changes about 1999, the only Right of Return laws are related to the German descendants in the former Warsw pact nations. None of these Right of Return laws conferred automatic German citizenship, at birth or any other time afterwards. These laws only provided an entitlement to naturalization as a German citizen. Naturalized citizens are by definition not natural born citizens.

“Yes Ted Cruz is a NBC.”

The evidence directly proves Ted Cruz cannot possibly be a natural born citizen of the United States of America. The evidence does indicatde there is a possibility Ted Cruz was born with Canadian citizenship, the right to apply for Cuban citizenship, and the right to apply for U.S. Citizenship. The right to apply for U.S. Citizenship is positive evidentiary proof that the citizenship is not natural born citizenship. Natural born citizenship exists without a statute of law to authorize the citizenship. By definition, the requirement of a statute of law to authorize the citizenship is direct evidence the citizenship is artificial and unnatural citizenship.

“I’m so sick and tired of people saying he is not a NBC with absolutely no basis, only there idiotic opinion of what they think a NBC should be, not what a NBC really is.”

It is an utterly false statement to say there is no basis for claiming Ted Cruz is not a natural born citizen. In fact, there is no basis in fact or law to claim Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen. It is a fact that Ted Cruz was born in Canada, and he therefore was born with Canadian citizenship. If the mother did retain her U.S. Citizenship, which is probable in this case, it was possbile for her to apply to the U.S. State Department to request and claim the acquisition of U.S. Citizenship for a birth abroad. Doing so is yet further direct evidence the such acquisition of U.S. Citizenship was obtained by means of a manmade and therefore artificial statute of law and not by natural law of descent from natural parents with U.S. Citizenship.

“So stupid.”

Yes, it is stupid when people attempt to reverse the obvious definition of a word or legal definition to represent the opposite of its original and true meaning. You simply cannot take the “natural” part of the term, “natural born citizen”, and try to misrepresent it to mean unnatural born citizen made so by manmade laws. If you doubt the truth of these definitions, look for yourself at the legal definitions for “natural”, “natural person”, and “natural law” versus statutory law.

That's why it doesn't matter if Cruz is or not. Once the MSM spread the doubt, he won't be electable, even in the GOP primaries. They'll see to it.

However, they'll probably be fine in every way with Jeb, or whoever the designated GOPe next in line is. Until the general election, when they'll turn on him like they did Romney.

Having done their dirty work for 0 like the good foot soldiers and quislings they are, it'll be time to do the same job for Hillary.

Cruz could be a real hero and explain why he is ineligible and explain why Obama is ineligible too.
