President Obamas increasingly grandiose claims for presidential power are inversely proportional to his shriveling presidency. Desperation fuels arrogance as, barely 200 days into the 1,462 days of his second term, his pantry of excuses for failure is bare, his domestic agenda is nonexistent and his foreign policy of empty rhetorical deadlines and red lines is floundering. And at last weeks news conference he offered inconvenience as a justification for illegality.
Explaining his decision to unilaterally rewrite the Affordable Care Act (ACA), he said: I didnt simply choose to ignore the statutory requirement for beginning in 2014 the employer mandate to provide employees with health care. No, this was in consultation with businesses.
He continued: In a normal political environment, it would have been easier for me to simply call up the speaker and say, you know what, this is a tweak that doesnt go to the essence of the law. . . . It looks like there may be some better ways to do this, lets make a technical change to the law. That would be the normal thing that I would prefer to do. But were not in a normal atmosphere around here when it comes to Obamacare. We did have the executive authority to do so, and we did so.
Serving as props in the scripted charade of White House news conferences, journalists did not ask the pertinent question: Where does the Constitution confer upon presidents the executive authority to ignore the separation of powers by revising laws? The question could have elicited an Obama rarity: brevity. Because there is no such authority...

The Constitution provides a remedy to adress this problem: impeachment.
We really could use a little more outrage on the part of the GOP's beltway milquetoasts.
But George voted a second time for Barry!?
IMPEACH!
CONVICT!
IMPRISON!
Impeach
Convict
Execute
We’re going to have to primary a LOT of “republicans” and whoop on democrats for that to ever happen. The GOPe type’s that lose in the primaries will turn Murkowski ugly; bank on it (as well as a fraud machine to help get the spineless bastards back in)
Obama’s transgressions make Nixon look like a choir boy.
Nixon and McCarthy were patriots simply trying to stop the commie take over of our country.
They were both right. Their only mistake was not doing enough and giving up.
“The Constitution provides a remedy to adress this problem: impeachment.”
Very true. The Constitution gives the House the power of impeachment and the Senate the power to try the offender once impeachment occurs.
The Constitution also gives the House the power of the purse. Since 2010 Republicans have controlled the House and therefore the power of the purse. Yet our national debt is the highest in the history of the nation and the federal government continues to pile up debt. The House has abdicated its spending authority to the Senate and the President by perpetuating the charade of continuing resolutions instead of forcing the Senate to pass, and the President to sign, a real budget.
Given the Republican House does not have the courage to cut a federal budget filled with obscene waste of taxpayer dollars, why should we believe that same House will impeach the first African American president?
The opposite of “pro” is “con.”
So what is the opposite of “progress?”
Boom.
When did George vote for Barry?
If only!
ObamaCare, $1 trillion stimulus, two Supreme Court justices (and three years to go), Amnesty (large chunks already by Executive Order), Muslim extremists competing for power in half a dozen countries that used to be friendly to America, largest debt increase in American history, explosion in federal backed welfare, gay marriage, incited racial hatred in the Zimmerman case, destroyed the American coal industry.
This guy isn't shriveling.
He's the most destructive political force in my lifetime, and he's gaining power.
The Constitution also provided that the usurper is ineligible for the office.
We the people ignored that provision twice.
Republicans are Ball-Less
WHO will save us??
Obama appears to be a dictator wannabee....
