Bill Kristol: Sarah Palin can fix political career with 2014 run
The Politico ^ | August 19, 2013 | Hadas Gold

Sarah Palin could rehabilitate her political career with a 2014 Senate run, Bill Kristol said Sunday.

“I think the way Palin would possibly resurrect herself, if that’s the right word, or rehabilitate herself I guess a better way of putting it, [is] run for Senate in Alaska in 2014,” The Weekly Standard editor said during a Web interview with ABC.

Kristol said the former Alaska governor and vice presidential nominee would be “pretty interesting” as a freshman senator after beating an incumbent in an election.

“I’m not urging that, I’m just saying if I were her adviser I would say, ‘Take on the incumbent, you have to win a primary, then you have to beat an incumbent Democrat. It’s not easy.’ But if she did that, suddenly if she can imagine that, you know, ‘Sarah Palin, freshman senator, Jan. 15, in Washington having beaten an incumbent,’ that would be pretty interesting,” he said.

Kristol added that Palin’s departure before the end of her term as governor hurt her leadership image....

Kristol is another blithering Beltway Bubble Boy. Sarah does not need to run. She is far more powerful rallying the base for Tea Party candidates.

IMO it would interfere with here ability to raise her personal wealth as she does right now.

Don’t know if she would be willing to take the financial hit.
Right now she makes money and still gets her political views on shows and in the news anyway.

I would be she cares less.

““All Romney has to do is announce, and the grassroots will respond instantly.”
and boy did they did....you could hear the crickets!!!!!
Without the base you have NOTHING. With the base (and cranking out the turnout) all things are possible.”

There were more than a few solid conservatives besides Mitt.

The base couldn’t even unite behind an acceptable candidate in the primary.
The base split it’s primary vote half a dozen ways and Mitt was never in any real danger of being defeated.

In all likelihood the exact same thing will happen in the 2016 primary. Cruz, Palin,
Paul, Walker, and possibly Rubio will split the grassroots vote like a bundle of kindling and Christie or Jeb will get the nomination and then get trounced by Hillary.

Simple. He wants to divide the Conservative vote to keep Cruz from winning. I have no doubt that Sarah will endorse Cruz. We must unite behind one candidate in the primary or the RINO du Jour will once again get the nomination.

Sorry, did not make it plain that I was referring to a potential 2016 run, not the Senate run.

Absolutely! Beware of RINOs endorsing anyone for any office.

Sarah has no political power. She only has words, good words, but powerless words

She has power over you. You can't seem to stop talking about her.

Ping to Sarah's Awesome list if you feel like having a migraine.

Le Sigh, I am too tired from work to beat on Bill "It's Arab Spring Time for Hitler" Kristol, so you all will have to do it.

I will say Sarah needs to "Fix" her Career when Grahamnesty and Christie "Fix" theirs.

GOP Cheerleader Scum.

The GOPe line in the face of conservative candidates has always been that the GOPe people get things done and the conservative challengers just talk about getting things done.

When it comes to conservative positions the GOPe is notorious in my mind for talking but not taking action. Their fake border security amendments to amnesty come to mind for just one of many examples.

I believe the Sarah Palin’s would actually turn back Obamacare, make government smaller, balance the budget, stop the debt clock etc. etc. etc.

You just keep lining up to kick the football and Lucy like she takes it away.

Without the Senate credential, she has no political service credential and no chance at the primary

She would in fact take votes from a candidate more likely to win

Once again, why should I, a principled conservative, or any other Freeper, take anything you say about Sarah or any other political topic seriously?

As your posting history proves, you are constantly advising conservatives to give up their principles, to compromise with the GOP-E.

Your political advice, given your RINO proclivities, is not to be trusted. Your advice runs counter to the principles and agenda of conservatives.

More BS from another pimp of the election industry! What, if any, elective office has this Bozo ever held where he placed his name on the ballot and given the voters an opportunity to show their level of support for his whacky positions on Public Policy?

I post what I perceive as reality, not pie in the sky.

Sarah is a great conservative voice, but so are Michelle and Ann.

When compared to say Scott Walker, none of the three will measure up to him on the Presidential scale.

I will not attempt to deny your words. They are true.

However drawing crowds to hear the message doesn’t translate to votes in the primary nor the election.

We can discuss what we think on the subject of Sarah, but it might be prudent to ask, What does Sarah think?

We don’t know of course, but she obviously made a conscious decision that she lacked the votes to prevail in 2012. I am fairly certain she knows that she is still very popular but not popular enough to win.

To return to the original thought, she must enter the political arena and put it on the line. The Senate election in Alaska is the overwhelmingly logical race.

Kristol is correct on thispoint
