Airman Punished for Opposing Gay Marriage Files Complaint
Fox News ^ | August 20, 2013 | Todd Starnes

An airman who was relieved of his duties after he told his commanding officer that he could not support gay marriage has filed a formal complaint with the military alleging he is the victim of religious discrimination.

Senior Master Sgt. Monk, a 19-year veteran of the Air Force was punished after he disagreed with his commander when she wanted to severely reprimand an instructor who had expressed religious objections to homosexuality.

“I was relieved of my position because I don’t agree with my commander’s position on gay marriage,” Monk told Fox News. “We’ve been told that if you publicly say that homosexuality is wrong, you are in violation of Air Force policy.”

The Liberty Institute filed a formal complaint against Major Elisa Valenzuela on behalf of the Christian airman.

“Major Valenzuela asked SMSgt. Monk if he could agree with her belief that openly voicing a religious or moral opposition to same-sex marriage is discrimination,” the official complaint reads. “Because of SMSgt. Monk’s sincerely held religious belief, he could not agree with the major. As a direct result, Major Valenzuela immediately relieved SMSgt. Monk from his First Sergeant duties and reassigned him to a different unit.”

Monk was also banned from returning to his unit’s building and required special permission to retrieve his personal belongings.

Liberty Institute attorney Michael Berry said the major’s actions are a violation of the law....

Just like the military/political complex....”Nothing to see here. Move along. We can’t be prosecuting gays for being an ass, and seeking retribution for not having her lifestyle endorsed by a subordinate.”

DoD has long ago been turned into a social engineering incubator, with the clear intent of undermining our military effectiveness and the broader culture.

Seems like here at FR wussy brass gets despised for allowing this to go on in the military (civilians who are ultimately in charge sure don’t have the gonads for it) and, yet, when a 19 year guy with credibility takes it on Freepers call him a s muck for sticking his neck out

He didn’t get separated. If they try to take away a 19 year guy’s retirement over this kind of thing it will look a lot different from this.

When people in this country start figuring out that we can not ride on the coattails of the accomplishments of our forefathers, such as defeating Hitler and getting guys to the Moon and back, it will also look different

It will look like this guy taking a risk for a most noble cause

And it’s not about hatred of anyone and certainly not about homosexuals. It’s about what’s always worked just don’t ask don’t tell and don’t harass- both sides

From what I remember, first shirts can lose the diamond at the drop of a hat. In our technical training squadron our first shirt gave his keys to an Airman leading a barracks detail to open a closet door and didn’t get them back. Our first shirt bounced out of there the next day like he had a bungee cord around his ankles.

For those from the other branches that may not be aware:
USAF First sergeant in the grades of E-7, E-8, and E-9

In the United States Air Force, First Sergeant is not a rank, but a special duty held by the senior enlisted advisor of a military unit who reports directly to the unit commander. This billet is held by individuals of pay grades E-7 through E-9 (Master Sergeant, Senior Master Sergeant and Chief Master Sergeant), and is denoted on the rank insignia by a lozenge (known colloquially as a "diamond"). Often referred to as the "first shirt", or "shirt", the first sergeant is responsible for the morale, welfare, and conduct of all the enlisted members in a squadron and is the chief adviser to the squadron commander concerning the enlisted force. Most units have a master sergeant in this position, while larger units use senior master sergeants and chief master sergeants as first sergeants.

He was reassigned to another unit, he’s still in the Air Force.

Such a "reassignment" is usually a career-ender. At least as far as promotions go.

He will me made to pay for his "infraction" one way or another. The homos have infiltrated our military in the highest ranks. The unit to which he has been reassigned likely has a sodomite somewhere in its chain of command, and the old dyke commander will no doubt trumpet the "fresh meat" horn to the new unit's degenerates upon his transfer.

He's likely to get a lot more $ than what he would have gotten in retirement. This in an open and shut case of religious discrimination against someone with a stellar and unblemished record. I don't thing the Air Force is going to want to defend this case in court, if it gets that far.

That is why we are in this mess of sodomite control and “reeducation camps” for Christians. (In America!!!) (Afraid to speak Truth against power/money).

As Pastor Bonhoeffer stated a half a century ago (and we are just like the “good” Germans)-— “Silence in the Face of Evil, is evil. To not Speak, is to Speak. To not Act is to Act.”

When Good men do nothing-—evil will take over. We are almost finished now because “good” people are outnumbered and the evil ones took control of the courts and can destroy anyone who speaks against the sodomites (the Truth).

Our public schools have conditioned children for 50 years to be fearful of being different from the group— “herd mentality” —dependents-—and that “up is down” so they are as irrational as the Marxists/sodomites who are pure evil.

The sodomites finally got total control of the courts/institutions/Presidency/Military/Boy Scouts/Schools——and if we don’t turn it around-—our children will be stupid/immoral and corrupted and warped-—thinking exactly like all the kids in Afghanistan where sodomy is “great” and the main hobby of the men and boys..

“Evil is Good” “Vice is Virtue” in our irrational “Justice” System —taught in schools and glorified in TV/Movies....and it is the children who are going to be warped and destroyed growing up with such an irrational, evil, warped worldview where Christian morality is being eradicated and replaced with Satanic Ethics. Parents are so corrupt they allow the minds of their children to be warped by Hollywood and public schools with irrational junk.

Because muslims are all sodomites. That is the big secret. As Walid Shoebat stated on the Michael Savage radio show-—the Saudis prefer boys for sex. Same with the Afghanis: http://www.examiner.com/article/afghan-pedophilia-a-way-of-life-say-u-s-soldiers-and-journalists

The Saudis have controlled what we do in this country for a decade or more—and that is why our muslim, homosexual President forced sodomy into the military-—to normalize muslim ethics-—and why the Boy Scouts now is like that homosexual German Boy Scout group in the late 1800s where orgies with the boys in the woods were routine..

.....just conditioning our little boys to think that sodomizing others is “Good” and a “Right”—to take Pride in anal sex for the NWO which is full of sodomites like that John Maynard Keynes. They have to rid us of Christian Ethics-—because that is where the worldview “Individual Rights from God” came from. They want a collective of slavers for their use.

“The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing”

AMEN to that!

I can tell from what little I know that this woman is a pathetic excuse for a commander. Unfortunately, this seems to be the norm in today's military. I spent 11 years in command positions during my years in the AF and ANG, and it just sickens me (actually, infuriates me) to see this happen.

He should pursue the lawsuit. He may have a chance of winning, and hopefully get her relieved of command and discharged (a twofer). But perhaps I am dreaming. In any case, the action will definitely cause her a lot of grief, and maybe serve as a warning to the next loser with rank not to try it. If he did nothing, this type of behavior would continue to grow. There must be consequences, otherwise it will happen again and again.

Being prevented from voicing a religous opposition to same-sex marriage is a violation of the !st Amendment ("...nor the free exercise thereof"), and to not be able to voice an objection based on moral beliefs otherwise a violation of freedom of speech.

While I understand rules are different under the UCMJ, one must consider that this is being used to cow the general population as well.

Why should the 98% be subject to sensitivity training, dismissal, or lawsuit, to suit the perversions of the two percent?

I am surprised that the NCO in this situation didn’t request the see this major’s commander. In the Marine Corps we have the absolute right to “request mast” all the way to the commanding general if we believe that we have been wronged by our immediate commander. Doesn’t the Air Force have this right

There has to be at least one rational leader in that chain of command..
