Posted on 08/22/2013 7:19:32 PM PDT by Olog-hai
Daniel Ellsberg, the man who leaked the Pentagon Papers in 1971, says the United States is on the verge of becoming a police state as evidenced by the National Security Agencys data collection programs and the treatment of secret document leakers Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning.
We have not only the capability of a police state, but certain beginnings of it right now, Ellsberg told The Huffington Post Wednesday. And I absolutely agree with Edward Snowden. Its worth a persons life, prospect of assassination, or life in prison or life in exileits worth that to try to restore our liberties and make this a democratic country.
He cited the NSAs phone and Internet data collection programs as evidence that the nation has reached the capability of becoming a police state.

The Libs won’t really start squealing until a Repub gets in office.
Until then it will just be a bit of grumbling.

the only ones not monitored are the terrorists
who are given MANPADs, maps, weapons, and

Expect to receive a visit from some 0 thugs after making that statement, Ellsberg. You will find out how far the police state has come soon enough.
“Obama” is irrelevant.
Any puppet in the White House will do the bidding of the 1%.
We’re peasants, don’t forget. They’re nobility.
Go back to watching televised sports and be quiet, serfs!!!
We are there.
The festivities just haven't yet kicked into high gear.
Maybe Daniel Ellsberg should tell this to the butt kissers at the New York Times...
You're right Diogenesis - radical muslims seem to get a pass from this administration...
All those emails read - our lives and privacy shredded - and the 'police state' folks couldn't get the Boston Bombers even with the Russians screaming at them? "Look at them, look at them..." How lame is that?
To quote Jim Traficant.
“Our Intelligence agencies are so stupid they could throw themselves at the ground and miss.”
To repeat the mantra I have been repeating for years-—Nothing’s going to happen. Nothing. The American people are clueless and asleep at the switch. They are being fitted for yokes and harnesses, and could not care less.
It’s NOT the ‘people’ - it’s the American press that doesn’t tell the truth... Our press is ‘dumbed down’ by someone - publishers or editors or something...marginal...
His actual words are pretty mealy-mouthed, unlike the headline.
Interview on Russia Today
Daniel Ellsberg “NSA Has Your ENTIRE Digital Record! That’s The Infrastructure Of A Police State!”
Jim had tossed his date on his heart-shaped bed after dousing the lights because as he sobered up he noticed she looked like Kathy Sibelius.
His new, sexy rug fell off and he was searching frantically for it when he ran his hand up her leg.
“Oh, that’s it!” she shouted.
“No, it’s not.” he replied.
“I part mine on the side.”
And people like Ellsberg support it.
If the administration plays the cards it’s got right, there will never bean opposition party in office again.
