Conservative media's total fixation on black-on-black and black-on-white crime isn't going to end. Here's why...
There are a few black people up to no good in this country and Fox News is on it! So is Drudge Report. Vigilantly on the lookout, 24 hours a day, for stories about black youths behaving badly.
This isn’t a particularly new phenomenon, but it’s intensified noticeably in the past year for at least two reasons. Conservatives, particularly white conservatives, feel a burning urgency to find a racial counterweight to the aftermath of Trayvon Martin’s shooting (including President Obama’s public comments about the incident), a logical response to the argument that things like background checks and an assault weapons ban are appropriate ways to reduce the likelihood of another Sandy Hook-style massacre, and anecdotal justifications for indiscriminate policing of dangerous neighborhoods.
But these are hopeless pursuits. The incidents they draw attention to fail by definition to underscore the things they believe. They all require projecting motives or details or both into tragic events, to create false dichotomies between shootings perpetrated by whites and blacks. They have the unhealthy effect of creating dueling tallies of white-on-black and black-on-white crime. And ironically they all tend to underscore the argument that more “stand your ground” laws and more racial profiling are off-point responses to these incidents....

Actually, no, it is not wishful thinking.
It was poor wording.
What the MEDIA reported was the suspects were black.
What was actually the case was, once again, the murderer was black.
James Francis Edwards Jr, (BLACK) aged just 15, and Chancey Allen Luna, (BLACK) aged 16, have been charged with first-degree murder and are being held without bond.
A third teenager, Michael Dewayne Jones, (WHITE) aged 17, has also been charged by police as an accessory to the murder, after the fact.

The white kid was driving, not shooting, probably because he was the only one that had a DL and actually had a car.
So yes, AGAIN, the killer was B - L - A - C - K, Mr. Beutler.
Facts Mr. Beutler, is what all conservatives feel a burning urgency to find, not just the white conservatives.
Not a racial counterweight to the aftermath of Trayvon Martin’s shooting.
Conservatives determined the facts of the case were GZ was NOT GUILTY.
The jurists came to the same exact conclusion.
Nor is it projecting motives or details or both into tragic events to create false dichotomies between shootings perpetrated by whites and blacks, having the unhealthy effect of creating dueling tallies of white-on-black and black-on-white crime.
Mr. Beutler, it is not a "false dichotomy" or "unhealthy" and the "tallies" are brutally incriminating.
It is the facts.
You may now toss in your "racist" accusations, Mr. Beutler as I have totally defied your thinly veiled attempts to convey that exact declaration on anyone that does not bow to your extensive display of skill in the use of a... thesaurus.

If the author could explain how background checks (which we already have and are unconstitutional) or a scary looking gun ban would have stopped sandy hook then there would be a reason to come up with a response. Otherwise it just looks like another tragedy that is exploited by this administration while it ignores the more common and pervasive crimes which do not further their goals.

Brian Beutler, the Washington correspondent for the Media Consortium
was shot three times yesterday in a failed mugging in Northwest Washington DC. Brian is in the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Beutler was shot in the shoulder when two hoodie-wearing, young black men attempted to mug him and a friend.
They could save a lot of searching time by just concentrating on Chicago, Detroit, LA, St Louis, Boston, NYC, etc. 10-12 major cities and you would have at least 70% of the crime which should be easily sifted through to extract the black on black and black on white crime. The other couple of percent could just be ignored.

Blacks are 7 times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and 8 times more likely to commit robbery.
The single best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percentage of the population that is black and Hispanic.
Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving blacks and whites, blacks commit 85% and whites commit 15%.

JournoList members reportedly coordinated their messages in favor of Barack Obama and the Democrats, and against Sarah Palin and the Republican Party. JournoList was founded in 2007 and was closed down in early 2010.
