A senior United Nations official has claimed that Syrian rebels may have used chemical weapons against government forces. Our investigators have been in neighboring countries interviewing victims, doctors and field hospitals, and there are strong, concrete suspicions of the use of sarin gas, This was use on the part of the opposition, the rebels, not by the government authorities.

O-Really was a real a-hole tonight pushing the ticket on getting involved in Syria because of humanitarian reasons. Geeze —— forget the potential negative backlash from Russia and China, not to mention the fact that the FACTS have yet to be confirmed!

Are we gonna go to war over something being “likely”?

And the White House is every bit as sure of this as the Bush White House was that Saddam had chemical weapons stockpiles. Actually, Bush knew and we knew at FR that Saddam had chemical weapons. For sure. When they were transported to Syria/Lebanon, for some cockamamie reason, Bush went with the mantra that he was misled/wrong. Saddam did have chem WMDs, and did indeed work on nuclear as well, albeit with little to no success. Compare that to the 0' regime that must be involved some way in the rebels using the chem weapons in Syria, while claiming it was Assad...
Apples and Oranges.

No, the UN doesn't do any such thing -- Carla del Ponte has been claiming this since
May at least. But here's something about her that's really difficult to oppose or dislike, especially here on FR:
Biography --
A total of 91 indictments were filed during Ms. Del Ponte's term, including against Slobodan Miloević while he was an acting head of State, and a number of high-ranking generals and top politicians were convicted of a range of crimes. Among her achievements, Ms. Del Ponte proved beyond reasonable doubt that genocide was committed at Srebrenica, in eastern Bosnia, and that rape was used as an instrument of terror in Bosnia, and as such constituted a crime against humanity. She also succeeded in securing guilty verdicts against several defendants accused of committing crimes against civilians during the epic siege of Sarajevo. In a 2001 interview, Del Ponte emphasized "Justice for the victims and the survivors requires a comprehensive effort at international and national level."

And the White House is every bit as sure of this as the Bush White House was that Saddam had chemical weapons stockpiles. Saddam did have chemical weapon stockpiles. There were satellite photos of convoys of Russian trucks carrying chemical weapons heading out of Iraq and into the Bekka Valley.

I guess I have become a cynical, old woman. Go ahead and rip me a new one if you want to, I don’t care. I don’t care if one barbarian faction kills another barbarian faction. I don’t care if they kill each other until no one is left in that entire accursed land. I don’t care if a washed out, jackass, imposter of a president “loses face” (he still has one left due to being two-faced from the start.) I don’t care if some smart as...d politician thinks we shouldn’t back down and risk losing global credibility. (Obammie already looks like an idiot to the rest of the world.) I only care about one thing...I don’t want the life of one more American child to be spilled on the soil of the God-forsaken places these people inhabit. Jesus is the savior, not the USA. Besides, it may just be Allah’s way of culling the herd. As I said, rip away.

Ten bucks says that we start finding some of those WMD that Iraq hid in Syria before we sent our troops in. No sarcasm tag, because I have a feeling that we will actually find them.

True but this needs to be brought out over and over again, shouted from the roof tops. No proof the rebels didn’t do it again in this most recent gas attack.

This was from May, but at least it shows the rebels history.
