Committing a small act of war is like being “just a little bit pregnant.” Has anyone done the calculus to ask what a lone Syrian agent might do to this country in retaliation? If we believe they are capable of unleashing chemical warfare on their own population, why would they have any qualms about hitting the U.S. with the same weaponry? We know that DHS has no plans to seal our borders.

Committing an act of war with the expectation that the other party will do NOTHING is unbelievably stupid. It goes against history. It goes against human nature.

The last time a war was started mostly for reasons of posturing, national pride, and possibly in the belief that it could be won quickly was WW1, which became one of the most hellish events in human history. Most Americans are not familiar with it, but WW1 was calamitous. Casualties were counted not in hundreds or thousands, but in hundreds of thousands and millions.

Chucking a few cruise missiles into Syria to do ~~WHAT??~~ could lead to world wide horrors in western countries taking terrorist hits taking down infrastructure and economies.

What have we become?

The world's first Metro-sexual nation under the world's first Metro-sexual President and I am not just Metrosexual-bashing. This administration, from Reset to Arab Spring have caused the US to lose power, prestige and allies, left and right since January 2009. Look at the President, then look at the VP after that look at Kerry - they're all neutered pretend men.

Ladies and gentlemen...

This statement about attacking with “just enough muscle” is in-line with this whole administrations’ policy of soft power. What is “soft power” if not being indecisive, timid and afraid of your own shadow.
The Old National Lampoon magazine ran a great special section once on France with a picture of Marshall Petain, “The Hero of Verdun” on it. This was in the late 1970’s. The famous French call of:
Liberte
Egalite and
Fraternite

were converted to:

Passivete' (Passive)
Timidte' (Timid)
Debilite' (Debilitating)

That's what we are now under Obama, the...hard for me to say this but, the FRENCH!!!! Oh no, sorry Freepers!

If Obama’s entire administration are not Metrosexuals but rather Homosexuals then I understand Putin’s ire at America - he hates them...

The limp, insipid, preening nobama will be mocked into eternity. nobama is the uber-putz of his generation. It will be impossible for nobama, the Weak One, to avoid being mocked. nobama reminds me of the kid in seventh grade that everyone picked-on. nobama reminds me of failure and weakness.

British MPs have voted against possible military action against Syria to deter the use of chemical weapons.

David Cameron said it was clear the British Parliament does not want action and “I will act accordingly”.

The government motion was defeated 285 to 272, a majority of 13 votes.

US finds itself with only 1 War with Syria partner, France:

ELAINE GANLEY, AP
Fri Aug 30, 1:55 PM UTC
PARIS (AP) — The United States found itself Friday with France as its only major partner in a potential strike against Syria, after a stunning rejection of military force in Parliament forced Britain, America’s staunchest ally, to pull out of any operation.

The collapse of British support for a mission to punish Syria for allegedly using chemical weapons puts pressure on President Barack Obama as resistance grows at home — and comes with the irony that France was the most vocal critic of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
