.
I was driving from Eagle Pass to San Antonio and there is an illegal alien station on the highway there. There is not a lot of traffic on this road on weekdays. I pulled up behind a car that was stopped and the agents were talking to the dr4iver through the window.
After a couple of minutes waiting, the door opened and this very attractive woman in a relatively short skirt got out, opened her trunk and bent over to dig something out of the baggage in the trunk.
The two agents stood there watching her dig through the baggage as did I. I guess she found whatever they were looking for because they then let her travel on.
ICE operates a major highway checkpoint periodically on I-91 just south of the I-89 interchange in White River Junction, almost 100 miles south of the Canadian border. Who they expect to find there other than Americans is beyond me, and it appears to be a colossal waste of time and taxpayer money.
They used to be nicer...
a couple of years ago a dark faced foreign guy with an accent (not French) asked me personal questions...
I asked him why he was asking me questions I didnt think pertained to crossing into Canada...and that I could not answer him..
The jerk bully informed me that this was “his” country and he could stop me from coming into “his” country..that he got to decide..
He was obviously a new immigrant to Canada and appeared to hate Americans...or something..
I bit my tongue to avoid telling him that my Loyalist ancestors had founded “his” country so it was more mine than his...
What he was demanding was illegal and he knew it...
He was just a TSA wannabe...
I cried though when I got to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge..
I always enjoy going into Canada but that took away much of the fun for me...
However the US border guards coming back were polite and nice as usual...
But the 2 times Ive gone to Canada again since then Ive been nervous...
All American citizens have the authority to question the authority of any federal agent.
All federal agents are required to properly ID themselves, and they must also be able to state the specific federal statutes that authorize to perform the duties of their office.
A federal agent can be challenged with this, at any time.
Two photo ID’s may be requested, and the federal agent *MUST* comply.
All that aside, the *first* apparently-federal agent was in error by stating that “criminal activity was suspected.”
If he had reason to believe that to be true, he had to specifically state how “suspect criminal activity” applied to the lady in question, and in addition, he is *required* to state the federal statute that authorizes him to detain her because of his suspicion.
He’s already in trouble, because he cannot act -— he DOES NOT have the authority to act, by stating in general that there is “suspect criminal activity” as a matter of policy, being a gimmick by which to detain some person at random.
He is not good at knowing and stating the law.
She is not good at knowing the steps to question the authority of the federal agents.
Again, federal agents *are required* to be specific and be so, up front. When they are so, they help prevent confusion and mis-understandings.
A federal agent *MUST* state the statutes -— passing over a brochure is *NOT* fulfillment of the agent’s duties.
These “border agents” / “inspectors” are poorly trained.
Not just Mexican federales shaking down folks. There was a big case recently in San Francisco, where SF cops were convicted of planting evidence in order to confiscate money and assets. The cops went to prison. Unknown to them, there was video evidence against them. It's not the America we used to know.
So what? Isn't that what we've been demanding all these years? The only way to have real border security is to enforce the border everywhere. You asked for it. You got it. What's the problem?
“The driver is in the wrong because she does not have the authority to judge authority of the law enforcement officers.”
You lick their boots then you class A putz. The rest of us will attempt to preserve our liberty.
Keystone cops with guns and power.
“...very attractive woman in a relatively short skirt...opened her trunk and bent over...”
Yeah, I guess THEY found what they were looking for, alright. Pervs with badges.
“The driver is in the wrong because she does not have the authority to judge authority of the law enforcement officers.”
You’ve really been trolling here for fourteen years? Wow!
I didn’t say it was bad. But if they’d stop them at the actual border there wouldn’t need to be a checkpoint 50 miles into the state.
She was the a**hole. I live in Arizona it is a point of entry. I have gone through numerous check points. The border agents were always polite.
Now it appears that the video does not start at the beginning of the stop. So what transpired before the video started rolling? So she just happens to have a video camera handy? It seems to me she was out looking for this type of scenario.
She owns a place in Nogales AZ? She has been through this check point before. Any LEO has the authority to ask for ID.
I see no fault with the agents here. They were very polite and patient withdrawn her. When asked she refused to give her name, where she is from etc. She acted suspiciously. I did not here any of the agents say they wanted to search her car. They asked her to pull to the side to finish checking her information out of traffic. She was holding up other US Citizens that she cares so much about so she can make a point.
That area of Arizona is notorious for human and drug trafficking and God knows what else. Of course when someone comes through with her attitude they are going to have red flags.
Several years ago I checked in my jurisdiction and it appeared that a cracked windshield was an infraction only if it impaired the ability to see the road.
If the SS (Special Security) tried to stop her for that they would have to have made a case that vision was significantly impaired by the crack.
I think you are based on the fact they had no valid reason to search her vehicle or detain her.
Your first clue should have been them allowing her to go after the young lady stood her ground.

First of all the video is edited. I have gone through many border checkpoints. They just don’t grill you. They normally just waive you through. She did something to make them suspicious of her. Where she was is a MAJOR point of entry. Nogales. Agent Terry was gunned down there in Rio Rico. They have every right to ask for ID. Geez people eant them to do their job and criticize them when they do. I stand by my statement.
I have a funny border story that happened MANY years ago.
I was working in NYC at the time, and drove to Montreal as my Grandmother was very sick. My Mother and Step-Father , from Boston were already there. When G’ma started to improve, I decided to go back to NYC and my Step-Father came with me as I was going to drop him off in Boston. My Mother stayed in Montreal.
Get the picture — Young woman with older man. His luggage AND mine in the trunk. Different names. We were detained quite a while as we were question by the border guard and he even called his supervisor to talk with us. I explained why we were together, and it never dawned on me what they were thinking until we drove away. I looked back at them and they were standing in the lane with their hands on their waists, as tho perplexed. Then — it dawned on innocent me! I laughed and said to DAD — they think we were weekending together!!
How times change. Nowadays it wouldn’t even raise an eyebrow!
Once again, they had no valid reason to search her vehicle or detain her.
Your first clue should have been them allowing her to go after the young lady stood her ground.
She did something to make them suspicious of her.
Here's the $60,000 question...
If they had reasonable suspicion to search her vehicle, why did they let here go without searching it Mr. wax?
