WASHINGTON—The White House is girding for more than a week of battle with Congress over President Barack Obama's plan to launch limited military strikes against the Syrian regime for its alleged use of chemical weapons last month.

You know history has come full circle when the staunch national defense crowd joins hands (at least in part) with those 60’s peaceniks!

Crazy government can do that to ya. Politics makes strange bedfellows, it would be harder to find a truer secular dictum.

It is apparent that the White Hut sees that taking action against Syria is NOT popular with the American people and will do a lot of arm twisting, threatening and whinning to get their way. Congress needs to stand firm and shut the door to starting WWIII. Odumbo got us into this mess by shooting off his big mouth, we should not and do not have to bail him out this time.

Hahahaha! White House “Girds”......reminiscent of the “300” girding their loins for battle....hah!....

They have to have “loins” to gird in the first place.

In actuality, they are hunkered down over their Word Processors and Teleprompter interface trying to lay out the best mix of emotional lies and empty promises. Words - just words.

Meanwhile, Obama is out on the golf course awaiting the output of the huddled wordsmiths.

For heavens sake, Boehner, schedule hearings a few days after your return and use them to humiliate the Obama administration.

Demand appearances by the generals who must under law tell the truth if asked by Congress their opinion. Demand appearances by those who were at Benghazi. Likewise documents. When Obama denies those things, use them to deny his application for approval to strike. Inquiry into John Kerry's intimate relations with Assad. Inquiry into this administration's meddling in Syria's Civil War by supplying arms to the rebels without congressional approval. It goes on and on.

Use your power to conduct hearings, it's one of the few powers you have left, especially since you decline to use the power of the purse.

Your suggestion will be ignored by Boehner.

Undoubtedly the worst Speaker of the House in the history of this country.

A man with the courage of a bowl of Jello.

I published the following reply the last time the story was posted under the same headline:

The Republicans still unilaterally control the power of investigation in the House of Representatives, yet there is virtually no realistic chance that Boehner will call for hearings.

If Boehner had either brains or balls he would conduct such hearings, he would illuminate for the public the entire sorry story of Obama's serial failure in country after country to protect the interests of the United States against the radicalization of the Muslim world.

He would use the hearings to drag out the sought after authorization to strike Syria and he would watch Obama's credibility deteriorate every hour.

No brains, no balls, no chance.

Read: Republican “leadership” and Donkeys are still trying to figure out a way to sellout to the White House and give Obama the war he wants with Syria. Anyone who expects Bonehead Boehner, Squishy Cantor, or Quisling McConnell to get a spine and cajones hasn't been watching these sellouts wimp out and cave. Then, we have the usual band of traitors like Juan McPain and Tinkerbell Gramnasty. War it is for our clueless amateur and worthless Congress.

This is a situation for the UN to handle. Theroretically. If they don’t act then throw them out of New York. Maybe that’s the battle we should be fighting.

He was elected Speaker by his fellow Congressmen, were they really that hard up for a leader? Is this an example of how bad the rest are? It appears to be so.

With this in mind it is time we got some new people in the Congress.

Time after time, Boehner has refused to lead. I am convinced the Whitehouse has something on him that they are holding over his head, much like they did with Justice Roberts.

What I’m sensing from the wild rhetoric of Kerry, Obama and their toadies in Congress, they are POLITICIZING this.

Trying to make anyone who opposes this to be in favor of gassing children.

So make no mistake, they are politicizing this just like they do opposition to any of their policies designed to “transform” (destroy) America as we know it.

With an added scoop of hysteria, because they KNOW they are on sheet-thin ice with almost all of the American people.

Kerry, especially, is so nauseating he makes me physically sick.

He sounds like Hillary on steroids about the fake video.

She’s a piker compared to Hanoi John.

Boehner will help the conservative and American cause
as often as he has in the past. NOT AT ALL.

Boehner sits at Obama’s/al Qaeda’s table and
partakes in the scraps thrown him.

This is the fault of the GOP for choosing a known loser.

Let Obama “gird”. How hard is it to just say No?

Hey Congress, don’t take the bait. If Obozo wants war, make him own it all alone. No good will come of this.
