Rangel: 'Of course it's embarassing' By Ian Swanson - 09/02/13 10:34 AM ET
Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) on Monday said "of course it's embarrassing" that President Obama warned Syria of a red line for using chemical weapons but then didn't move forward immediately with a military strike.
Rangel, who opposes a military strike against Syria, also said Secretary of State John Kerry must be even more embarrassed after making an aggressive speech calling for a military strike on Friday, and then seeing Obama delay it to ask Congress for authorization a day later.
Speaking on MSNBC, Rangel said "I love Obama" and you'll "never find a truer Democrat than me."
But he said the idea that a president could draw a red line and push the nation into war was "unheard of.
"So of course it's embarrassing, I wish it didn't happen. I guess Secretary Kerry is even more embarrassed than me after making his emotional speech that this was urgent."
Rangel said he didn't see anything urgent and that Obama was right to give Congress time to consider the action.
The veteran New York lawmaker has repeatedly said he opposes a strike.

Rangel has a deep well of embarrassment to draw from.
On the other hand, I never thought I’d agree with him on a policy matter, but I do on Syria.
Only Republicans pay taxes otherwise they go to jail for 4 years like the most decorated cop in NYPD history Bernard Kerik. Democrats like Rangel though only get a slap on the wrist from Nancy Pelosi then get reelected.
Or being censured by the House.

If Obama, Juan McCain and others are so concerned about the killing in Syria, where is the diplomatic push by the USA for a cease fire?
Imagine that it was Israel invading Syria instead of muslim rebels like Hamas, Al Qaeda and The Muslim Brotherhood who Obama favors.
And imagine that Irael was winning.
Obama would have Samantha Power pounding her shoe on the desk at the UN demanding an immediate cease fire.
And he would have John Kerry threatening Israel with everthing possible, including a US nuclear attack, if they didn’t pull back to the original borders.
This speaks volumns as to how out of touch Obammy is with reality.
If I were Charlie Rangel,I’d be embarrased to shave!!!!!!!
