Starting a widely unpopular war which will inevitably escalate and will likely involve Russia and China, not to mention all the countries that neighbor Syria, and at best, result in a regime dominated by Al-Qaeda? No problem. Here are the Senators who voted to push America into the latest middle eastern war:

Where did you get an idea that Israel wants any US military action on behalf of Al Qaeda?

Israel never blamed Assad using chemical weapons. Some experts or individual ministers may did so but it wasn’t official position of the Israeli government. Regarding your last statement, manufactured intelligence, IMHO Israel have more to lose if Assad removed from power and Syria descends into chaos.

I believe there is much more than just oil money involved. I’m thinking from/of the US missiles, hundreds of them, that were probably the demise of Kadaffi including leading his death. There were reports that in years past Libya had been the storehouse of a lot of gold bullion probably in the trillions of dollars. This gold was being held for the European and ‘new word order’ power brokers. Kadaffi fell out of grace for not being dedicated enough to the eastern Muslim and European bankers who were in cahoots over the gold for oil for one thing. Kadffi instead of turning over the gold to the cabal had it shipped to Syria and Assad. Of course this doesn’t sit well with the bankers in Europe including England and especially France as well as the Muslims/Arabs in the middle east including Saudi Arabia and it’s King to whom Obama once bowed in homage. So as today the charade is open and both groups are out to recover their gold from Assad and have to remove him eventually like was done to Kadaffi.

Israeli intelligence first confirmed Assad regime behind alleged chemical attack

I doubt Israeli intelligence would provide information which was not considered to be in the best interest of their country.

re: How come we haven’t heard anything from Reid. The guy arrogantly forces his opinion in everything, yet I have not heard one peep from Reid. Why is that?

He has not been silent. You have just missed him. As per usual, he is going against the will of the people to do the bidding of Obama and kiss his a$$.

see: http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2013/09/03/senate-democrats-confident-on-passing-syria-authorization/

“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) believes he will have the votes to pass it even if opponents try to use a filibuster to block it, an official familiar with his thinking said Tuesday.”

“Mr. Reid didn’t join other congressional leaders Tuesday morning in their meeting with Mr. Obama at the White House on the matter. An aide said Mr. Reid was in Nevada and decided not to return to Washington for the White House meeting because he had been in almost-daily contact with the president and “has all the information he needs.”

Based on what I read someone and somewhere told to someone and somewhere.... may be true and may be not...to some extend I would agree with your last paragraph but I bet they didn’t expected current developments.

Why aren’t Mike Lee and Ted Cruz on the ‘No’ list?

Do they belong to that committee?

The depth to which the inside the beltway types have descended is astonishing. A decision to kill thousands of people within the borders of a sovereign nation is based only on politics. The Dems want to invade a foreign country simply and only to save the face of a Democrat President. Perhaps more frightening is the lap dog media is cheering them on.

No one has considered that Syria’s Air Defense systems were supplied by Russia, and probably manned by Russians. What will happen when we start killing Russians??

The same thing that happened when we killed Russians in North Korea and Vietnam, and when the Israelis killed Russians in some of their wars - nothing. They'll just send more Russians, and it'll be a chance to sell some more weapons systems to replace the ones we destroy.
