Our government is yet again marching us towards a war of choice in the Middle East and our non-partisan, peace-loving celebrities have gone missing since late 2008. We fear the worst.

1. Sheryl Crow LAST KNOWN PRE-2009 COMMUNICATION: “I think war is based in greed and there are huge karmic retributions that will follow. I think war is never the answer to solving any problems. The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies.” — Sheryl Crow

2. Bruce Springsteen LAST KNOWN PRE-2009 COMMUNICATION: “War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing.” — Bruce Springsteen

I fear the worst! There are so many more principled anti-war celebrities than this brief list. Imagine a world without Hollywood! How will we cope?

Are all of these people hypocrites?

I thought they really cared about all the women and children caught in the crossfire of war.

First we find out that they don't really care about women's rights but they'll go to the mat for abortion privileges. Or homosexual perversion.

Now we find out that all of this anti-war mania over the last fifty years was just political posturing.

they were never part of an “antiwar” movement; they are some of them die hard leftists and some them dupes who have been duped by the left and some them “progressive” and “Liberal” useful idiots - always useful to the Marxists.

The modern American “antiwar” movement, created and continuing in place since the 1960s, was and never has been and is not now an “antiwar” movement. It is a Marxist led political movement used by the Left against Conservative-minded federal administrations and activated when the theme of “never let a crisis go to waste” on the occasion of war makes for an organizing excuse of the Marxists who are able to employ the LameStreamMedia as THEIR defacto and virtual “antiwar” public relations team, pro-bono.

The “missing” celebrities are not missing; dictatorship, war, military adventures, domestic spying, and many other ills are only ills to be protested about IF those in power are NOT of the Left, otherwise there is nothing wrong with any of those things, which is the case, as far as the left is concerned, with Obama - thus no “antiwar” celebrities out protesting Obama going to war in Syria.

I know. It has hit me pretty hard too coming to that realization.
Almost as hard as it hit Danny glover when he found out that Global warming doesn’t cause earthquakes,
Or when Sean Penn became a widow after Chavez died.

You are attributing the words of Barrett Strong to Springsteen.

Every last one of those putrid parasites is anti-American and anti GOD and this article makes the case that they are all hypocrites... and why isn’t the press asking them why they are silent today? I know the answer.

William Shakespeare, ‘Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor.” — Barbra Streisand

You'd think anybody in show business could spot right away a quote which did NOT come from someone who wrote exclusively in iambic pentameter.

A mind boggling assortment of moronic drivel — and yet these clowns think they are clever!

I hope Neil Young will remember,

A Southern don’t need him around, anyhow!

Shakesspeare didn't write exclusively in iambic pentameter. His sonnets -- by definition -- were, but many of his more notable plays were not.

"To be or not to be? That is the question."

"Friends, Romans, countrymen: lend me your ears."

"Double, double, toil and trouble ..."

"For he today who sheds his blood with me shall be my brother"

"Neither a borrower nor a lender be ..."

Etc..

Not that BS's quote is anything but BS ... Neither Shakespeare nor Caesar ever said those words.

Heaven knows I’m no expert, but I think those quotes are part of longer passages which are Iambic pentameter.

Reading Shakespeare I have noted that he will begin a line with one character speaking and have the line finished by another character in order to keep the form intact.

In any event, as you point out, Babs should have known better.

re: “It was not until they cut out part of his brain that he became a liberal.”

Neil Young has been an American bashing liberal for as long as I’ve known him. He wrote, “Ohio”, in 1970 to protest the National Guard accidental shooting of four people during a big anti-war protest at Kent State. He hated Nixon and our military, hated Christianity and the so-called “establishment”. Definitely part of the “counter-culture”.

Maybe he had a political epiphany I’m unaware of with Reagan. I don’t know.

I love his music with Crosby, Stills, and Nash, as well as some later stuff (i.e. “Cinnamon Girl”, the album “Harvest”).

He always seemed to be a political/moral idiot as far as his personal views go. Good music though.
