President Barack Obama hinted Friday that he might not strike Syria if Congress rejects his authorization request.

Of course he won't. That would take big brass ones and he ain't that guy. There's a host of reasons why he chose to drag Congress into this, and chief among them was providing cover and blame-shifting later. A disaster in Syria on his own, which is nearly certain, would lead to his removal from office, or at least an attempt.

And don't forget he's the guy that favors "leading with his behind (or some-such)" and voting "present." He'll slink away from Syria right quick when the initiative stalls in the House.

2. So he seeks Congressional approval.

3. Doesn’t get it? He can blame “GOP obstructionists” for the mess in Syria.

Although I think he still going on a nationwide address Tuesday to push for a strike. I don’t think there is anything to be lost by holding off — if the gas attacks or other provocations continue it will all be fuel for the next round.

Which implies that he might strike Syria if Congress rejects his request. So if that is the case, then why the fuch did he ask ‘em in the first place if he was planning on ignoring their rejection. Clearly, Obama doesn’t know whether to poop or wind his watch.
