Drawing an Al-Qaeda Red Line
National Review Online ^ | Sept. 7, 2013 | Andrew MCcarthy

Have you noticed who exactly the opposing camps are in Syria’s civil war — the aspect that the side chomping at the bit for American military intervention would prefer not to discuss?

In one corner, we have Bashar Assad. Unlike President Obama and his minions, who spent their first couple of years empowering Assad — Obama reopening diplomatic ties, Hillary pronouncing him a valiant “reformer,” Pelosi huddling with him, Kerry wining and dining him — many of us alleged “isolationists” on the right were never under any illusions about him. Assad is an anti-U.S. thug, the junior partner of Iran, America’s mortal enemy on the Shiite side of the Islamic-supremacist street. While the Obama administration has made an underwhelming case that the Syrian despot has used chemical weapons, let us stipulate for present purposes that the case is airtight. Let’s even concede the more dubious claim that Assad has launched more than one small-scale chemical attack.

Andy nails another one. Bottom line: The Syrian "rebels" are AQ and the MB. If they win, they'll get Assad's chemical stockpile and the nxt thing they'll do is use it on us. IOW, right now, Putin is a lot more of an American friend and benefactor than the Mahdi, who is a total, irreconcilable, evil, virulent enemy of America and Americans, who must be impeached and removed for treason, bribery, and multiple other high crimes and misdemeanors.

“The US is not Al Qaeda’s air force” — tell that to Obama...

“By contrast, Assad’s “rebel” opposition, spearheaded by the anti-American Muslim Brotherhood, systematically uses al-Qaeda in its military operations — not one or two times, but every single day, and in virtually every attack that causes real damage to the regime.”

Not to mention Al Qaeda’s attack on the US — so whose side should be fighting on or should just let our enemies destroy each other?

So tell me why the pundits are not taking the next step and calling it treason for Obama to even try and support al Quaeda since we now know for sure that is who the rebels are?

These are the people who attacked us on our soil and we have no plan to get rid of the WMD's with lobbing a few bombs....NO.....Obama is going to put these weapons in al Quaeda's hands with his plan to bomb Syria.

TREASON

Outstanding essay! McCarthy draws a stellar parallel comparing the left's domestic war on guns to their showy war on international use of chemical weapons, all the while ignoring or obscuring the nature of the actors or ideology behind their exploits and a careful dissemination of "facts." Considered objectively in context these assertions have the hallmarks of pre-determination to accommodate their ends. (Whatever they are)

In so doing they concoct phony narratives they may or may not actually believe and spew it ad nauseam to the most gullible and imbecilic. And the worst of it is, when successful, they mold policy in this way.

Only using liberal-think can Muslim jihadists be called “moderates” while Ted Cruz is considered an “extremist”

Have an idea for a cartoon here. Obama telling Kerry to make a red line in the sand. Kerry making a red line in the sand using a Heinz Ketchup bottle. Obama giving arms to Al Qaeda terrorists while Kerry is using his Ketchup bottle to make a red line in the sand. The terrorists going into Egypt, Libya, Syria, and Africa while Kerry is making Obama’s red line in the sand with his Heinz Ketchup bottle. Pelosi, Boehner, and McCain on their knees with their heads on the ground in Muslim prayer praying to and facing Obama. Samantha Power doing a pirouette in a ballerina outfit as she helps Obama arm Al-Qaeda terrorists. Media representatives from the major networks also on their knees heads to the ground doing a Muslim prayer to Obama. Vladimir Putin flying in the air in a Superman uniform saying Stop!

The real damage to America’s image is that when brutish thugs like Assad or Putin are compared side by side with Obama, they look capable and competent and he comes across as a feckless clown. How long will it take to fix THAT world image?

OMG, what a joke of an article. In his entire scenario he fails to mention the words Saudi Arabia. This is NOT the US against our sworn enemy of Iran. Iran is a sideshow. Iran poses no threat to the U.S. and rhetoric aside very little threat to Israel. Fact: about 20,000 Jews living in Iran.

http://www.jewishideasdaily.com/4783/features/iranianjewrytoday/

This is currently a “covert” war of US mercenaries fighting for

...wait for it...wait for it...

SAUDI ARABIA and its TERRORIST allies.

Does Assad represent a threat to Israel? Perhaps. In political ways perhaps, but an existential threat? Doubtful. In fact, the two nations have struck a decent balance over the years, and with Russian now taking its rightful place in the world I believe we’ll see Syria and Iran slowly de-escalate their rhetoric, for it’s not in Russia’s interests to spark WWIII.

But it’s entirely in the interests of

...wait for it...wait for it...

SAUDI ARABIA and its child Al Qaeda to spark war, as their position in the oil hierarchy is fast eroding.

Once you realize and accept that Barry’s government is riddled with Muslim Brotherhood, and he is actively knocking over governments and replacing them with Muslim Brotherhood, all this falls into place.

The worry that Assad will be replaced by Al Qaeda and the Brotherhood is only a worry for the likes of you and me. It is not a worry for Obama or the committee at the other end of his teleprompter.

Only one election if the democrats don’t steal it again.

If they do, we’re past the ballot box and soap box stage...

To me, the shrieking over weapons of mass destruction is the international version of the Left’s domestic campaign against guns, and of a piece with its trendy revulsion against land- and sea-mines.

This is the first time the author commented about the rat's renewed tendency for gun grabbing that I noticed.

If Obama has advocated treason here, so too have the Jacobin wing of the neoconservative movement. And sadly, the Bill Kristols of the world are the ones chose by Faux News et all as pundits. But even for those who see reality, none have the courage to call the first black president, a man whose brother works in Muslim Brotherhood finance, a traitor.

Assinine agitprop.
I oppose the treasonous act of aiding Al Qaeda in Syria. Nonetheless, the person who made this poster knew nothing of Japanese actions in the 24 hours after Pearl Harbor. Look up Guam and the Philippines.
