Russian President Vladimir Putin will offer to supply Iran S-300 air defence missile systems as well as build a second reactor at the Bushehr nuclear plant, the Kommersant business daily reported Wednesday.
Putin will renew an old offer to supply Iran with five of the sophisticated ground-to-air missile systems at a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rowhani on Friday, Kommersant said, quoting a souce close to the Kremlin.
Putin is set to meet Rowhani at a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation held in Kyrgyzstan on Friday.

Putin is a phony, a liar, a former atheist communist and a high-ranking member of the human rights-violating KGB. The KGB, if you don't recall, was the Gestapo of the USSR.
Perhaps you really believe Putin found God. Maybe you think the Baltic Nations, the Ukrainians, the Poles, and the Georgians, don't know what they're talking about when they fear him and his idiotic desire to restore the USSR's empire. But I don't think they're wrong.
If Putin had no biography, the way he's reinvented himself might make sense. As it is, he's like Mussolini who was once a Socialist and later a founder of Fascism. He's like Milosevic who was once a Communist heir to Tito and then a Ultra-nationalist Serb.
Syria is not a threat to our national security but Iran is.
To some extent, going after Iran is also going after some of Syria's resources thus killing one and a half birds with one stone.
Do I think we should declare war on Iran out of the blue? No. But there were times when serious red lines were crossed by Iran but we ignored it, just like the last North Korea fiasco.
During the last North Korean fiasco we could have told China to disarm North Korea of what it has already progressed to with its nuclear weapons program or we will.
Can't do any of that now and be taken seriously. If we did, they would likely assume we were drawing another fake red line which could by default draw us into war simply because we have no credibility.
We need to choose our red lines wisely and on those nations and situations that involve our national security.
The comparison is Putin to Hitler and only in the sense that both claimed to be nationalist. No Freeper I know has compared Bush to Hitler.
I don’t see Iran as a threat in a military terms. They are an extremely complicated society, much more developed than any of the Arabs. There are a lot of open minded people who aren’t happy with the mullahs and certainly not dreaming to kill Americans.
