When I first looked into the attempts to recall two Colorado state senators, I decided not to write about them. These were solidly Democratic districts, and it seemed unlikely that the disorganized effort would succeed.
But Tuesday night both recalls did succeed. John Morse, the president of the state Senate, lost by two percentage points, while Angela Giron lost by a surprising 12 points...
--snip--
In other words, Girons district is about a point more Democratic than Delaware, and Morses district is about a point more Republican than California (and therefore still highly Democratic). Despite pro-gun-control forces reportedly outspending the anti-gun-control forces by 6-to-1, both incumbents were defeated...

If this isnt about turnout, but rather is a reaction to policy, then relatively modest gun-control efforts look pretty radioactive, and an awful lot of Democrats who supported the federal gun-control bill ought to look over their shoulders. This is especially true in Colorado, where nine Democrats occupy seats that are more Republican than the ones Republicans just flipped...
--snip--
Perhaps, as I explained in April, the energy is all on the side of the voters who oppose gun control. For example, while Americans might support universal background checks in the abstract, in practice they just dont care that much about it. Those who oppose them, however, care a lot.
Gun-control proponents had argued that Newtown changed everything. The Colorado recalls are a fresh reminder of how weak an argument that truly is.
Additionally, Democratic pollster PPP found that while the individual components of the gun-control bill were relatively popular in Colorado (albeit by less than the national margin, and in a heavily Democratic district), voters had a positive opinion of the NRA...

I couldn’t agree with you more - and I’ll include the Lt. Governor and Attorney General races too. These races are truly a choice between the Marxist Obama/Clinton regime (Terry Mac) and the anti-Obama, anti-GOPe Cuccinelli. Through Jackson and Obenshain in the mix and you’ve a full ticket of Constitutionalists versus the anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro-government crowd. It is difficult for me to consider an equivalent top ticket that is so profoundly different - and God help the Commonwealth if Cooch, E. W., and Mark don’t win. I’ll humbly say this is the most important election I’ve ever seen in the Commonwealth.
We need two battle plans now. One for going forward to win an election, and one to blow up the attack at the flank, after we win the damn thing. This includes criminally charging college students wagging around backpacks of ballots.
Marxists overwhelm front to back, of every campaign, with impunity, while we employ Duchess of Queensbury Rules.
If this is true, and nothing is proven, and there are no consequences, then we have no democracy.
The same is happening with criminally early voting, the vehicle for Marxist fraud.
The Democrat Controlled Media gives the Rat Candidates another 15% advantage, or so they say.
Fighting the big Liberal money and the big Liberal Media influence and coming out on top is no small feat.
Last night I posted that I was shocked that one of Races was so close in a supposedly “Conservative” area. Now I read that Republicans were outnumbered there as well.
Maybe Miracles do happen.
Haven’t heard anything about Morse demanding a recount. Did his concession speech last night take the recount off the table? If a recount comes to pass will the issue of the college kiddies with their not quite 22 day residency come into play. An inquiring western slope mind wants to know.....
No, but thanks to a quick move by the Dems signed of course by chickenpooper, there was same day registration. The same van load of illegals could move from poll to poll, register and vote all at the same time....
That's what is happening & will continue because of no accountability. We conservatives are screwed.
Much like his corporate sponsors, throwing money away on a show with no ratings. All for the altar of leftism.
I have not heard anything about a recount. I don’t think that’s on the table.
What is means is that Mr. Cuccinelli ought to be dusting off the NRA endorsement: AND PUSH AS HARD AS HE CAN AT GUN-GRABBING ENABLER McAuliffe.
