Are terrorists setting U.S. wildfires? Ex-NSA official: Al-Qaida ignited California blazes
wnd ^ | 9/11/13 | Joe Kovacs

Posted on 09/11/2013 8:11:39 PM PDT by Nachum

As the 2013 season of devastating wildfires continues to rage across the American West, the question of arson as a form of major terrorism is again being raised.

Already this year, 35,440 reported fires have burned a total of 3.9 million acres, with a quarter-million acres scorched the iconic Yosemite National Park.

Large blazes continue to burn in several states, with six alive in Idaho, five each in California and Montana, and one each in Alaska, Louisiana, Oregon, Texas and Washington.

The National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho, says at this time last year, 45,278 fires had burned 7.9 million acres, and in 2011, there were 55,619 fires devastating 7.2 million acres.

In July 2012, William Scott, a former National Security Agency official and Aviation Week editor, told the American Center for Democracy that terrorists are using fire as a tactical weapon of war.

“Perhaps the most simple form of economic warfare is wild land arson,” Scott said in his “Fire Wars” presentation. “That’s just setting fires in U.S. forests [and] grasslands.”

They have been known to inspire farmers in CA’s central valley to give up hope of survival for the lack of water....that the see-airhead clubs actions have saved....for some Non Endangered Fishies.

They are thugs in suits!

If the Muslims are setting the fires I doubt anyone will ever catch them. Everyone is too busy watching "dancing with the Stars" to worry about what's happening.

Think about it.. Already this year, 35,440 reported fires have burned a total of 3.9 million acres.. is that really coincidence?

You know?
I never understood Texas for like 10 years.
There was no public land.

I get it now, but I saw all the watermelons in Ca.
Watermelons don’t believe in property rights.
They say it all belongs to the community, while they set rules that rob you of your rights.

Libs aint dumb.
They are evil pricks but they aint dumb.

NINETY percent or more of todays non smokers strike me a NAZIS at least in this area....of Marin County CA

Its not the poor nor the rather wealthy that are EVER so SENSITIVE to the aroma of tobacco smoke... its the upper middle classs wanna bes who dont QUITE have everything they want THEIR WAY yet.

Hitler as I hear tell was also a voracious eater of PASTRIES....and likely suffered serious bouts of BLOOD SUGAR SPIKES...and VALLEYS which may have worsened his already unstable mental functions!

The little public land in Texas was for Land Grant Colleges.

There are a few parks.

All the rest is private property, as it should be.

Yes, Lefties are thieves. The worst kind, theft by law.

“Essays on Political Economy” by Frederic Bastiat

http://www.gutenberg.org/files/15962/15962-h/15962-h.htm

“Some persons consider that plunder is perfectly justifiable, if only sanctioned by law.”

“Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavours to live at the expense of everybody else.”

And he described in detail the failure of Socialists. This was written extensively about in 1849.

Amazing. Think of the lives lost to the illusion called Socialism, in the past century alone.

Never before, at least in my memory, have there been such a huge and devastating number of fires.

Not true. This year is not significantly worse than others over the last decade or more. "Since 2000, there has been a dramatic spike, not just in the acreage burned — more than 7 million acres every year on average — but in the size of wildland fires and their duration. In 2002 alone, Colorado, Arizona, and Oregon had huge fires that set modern records, with the Hayman, Rodeo-Chediski, and Biscuit fires burning 138,000, 467,000, and nearly 500,000 acres, respectively." Source

The problem is forest structure due to a policy of mandated neglect.

Sun Tzu on the Art of War

Chapter XII: The Attack by Fire

1. Sun Tzu said: There are five ways of attacking with fire. The first is to burn soldiers in their camp; the second is to burn stores; the third is to burn baggage trains; the fourth is to burn arsenals and magazines; the fifth is to hurl dropping fire amongst the enemy.

2. In order to carry out an attack, we must have means available. The material for raising fire should always be kept in readiness.

3. There is a proper season for making attacks with fire, and special days for starting a conflagration.

4. The proper season is when the weather is very dry; the special days are those when the moon is in the constellations of the Sieve, the Wall, the Wing or the Cross-bar; for these four are all days of rising wind.

5. In attacking with fire, one should be prepared to meet five possible developments:

6. (1) When fire breaks out inside to enemy's camp, respond at once with an attack from without.

7. (2) If there is an outbreak of fire, but the enemy's soldiers remain quiet, bide your time and do not attack.8. (3) When the force of the flames has reached its height, follow it up with an attack, if that is practicable; if not, stay where you are.9. (4) If it is possible to make an assault with fire from without, do not wait for it to break out within, but deliver your attack at a favorable moment.

10. (5) When you start a fire, be to windward of it. Do not attack from the leeward.11. A wind that rises in the daytime lasts long, but a night breeze soon falls.12. In every army, the five developments connected with fire must be known, the movements of the stars calculated, and a watch kept for the proper days.13. Hence those who use fire as an aid to the attack show intelligence; those who use water as an aid to the attack gain an accession of strength.
