MISSISSIPPI OPEN CARRY: THE 2ND AMENDMENT IS YOUR CARRY PERMIT
BreitbartĀ“s Big Government ^ | 9-13-13 | AWR HAWKINS

While everyone was watching news in Colorado during the final weeks of the recalls, Mississippi was instituting a new law to allow the open carry of firearms without a concealed carry permit.

House Bill 2 was passed in Mississippi's last legislative session and signed into law by Governor Phil Bryant (R), but put on hold in July when Circuit Judge Winston Kidd issued an injunction to have the legislature "clarify it."

On August 29 the Mississippi Supreme Court "unanimously upheld the... open carry law," setting the stage for it to take effect.

“THE SECOND AMENDMENT IS YOUR CARRY PERMIT
Would someone please point that out to Christie and the morons in the New Jersey legislature? They don’t seem to be listening to me! “

Add NY to that!

Mississippi says that we may carry a weapon openly for self defense and in defense of the State when and if needed. It may be an infringement to require a CCW permit but when Scalia says that some regulation is allowed... I do not know how we overcome that except by incremental removal of unConstitutional laws... just the way the left put them into place... we undo them a bit at a time. I am an active member in three gun rights groups and I just helped in a fund raising event for the NRA. I personally donated 500 dollars that evening.

Well, what’s really odd is that states like VT and DE have better and more permissive gun laws than TX, FL, or SC. Yeah, it probably was jim crow. But what’s their excuse now?

Why open carry when you can conceal? It is much safer and more peaceful when no one is judging you for having a tool to defend yourself.

“The requirement for which is an INFRINGEMENT upon your Second Amendment rights, no matter how easily obtained”

That is undeniable.

Years ago in other areas, I easily obtained CCW permits.
I have also lived in “open carry” states.

I much prefer to conceal the number and type of personal self defense tools I decide to carry on any given day.
I am not particularly physically imposing, and I made it a habit to avoid physical confrontations of any kind.

I noticed when I openly carried hand guns, I attracted far more attention from individuals who I deemed “potential threats”.
As if in their abnormal, alcohol, drug or testosterone overloaded minds they thought I was actively daring them to assault me!

I prefer concealed carry.
If an individual has never been convicted of a violent crime, I see no reason to require that citizen obtain a “permit” to carry any concealed weapons.

There are situations and places that common sence would allow for all citizens to be banned from carrying weapons of any type.
Banks, bars and courthouses come to mind.

If those places do ban weapons of citizens on the premises, they must also openly assume all liability for every citizens personal safety and protection, while on the premises.

Which is why I have not seen a single person open carry yet.
I do not have a problem with open carry however... if someone wants to do it. Makes people treat each other like they did 30 years ago.

I have actually seen a couple folks open carrying here in Hampton Roads, VA in the last few months. I have to admit, even I did a double take to make sure I was really seeing it.
