Last week, while walking through Union Square in Manhattan, 62-year-old Jeffrey Babbitt, a retired train conductor who was the caretaker for his 94-year-old mother, was killed by Lashawn Marten, a black man over 20 years his junior who declared his intention just seconds before he punched Babbitt in the head to hurt the first white person he encountered.
Two days later, a white passenger on a bus passing through Harlem was assaulted by another passenger for being a “cracker.” The 31-year-old assailant struck his victim so hard that, according to the New York Post, “he smashed the bones in his face,” “breaking his nose and eye socket.”
Both the rate and ferocity of black-on-white violence is nothing short of a national scandal. All decent Americans, and certainly all those who claim to care about race relations, should be as attentive to and concerned about this phenomenon as they are attentive to and concerned about anything else.
Not everyone sees it this way. Below are three objections that are commonly stated.
Objection #1: Blacks don’t have a monopoly on violence and whites don’t have a monopoly on being the victims of violence. Violence is part of the human condition. So, why should we attach more importance to this kind of violence than we attach to all sorts of other kinds?
Reply: Of course, what is said here is true. Still, that blacks constitute a small minority of America and yet comprise, overwhelmingly, the majority of perpetrators of interracial crime is, or should be, more than enough to convince the thoughtful that black-on-white violence is a very real problem.
Moreover, it isn’t just the interracial violence here itself that is a grave cause of concern, but the especially savage character that this violence all too often assumes. Just a cursory perusal of any random selection of black-on-white attacks readily reveals the mercilessness that an alarming number of black predators show toward their white prey.
Objection #2: Granted, black-on-white violence is a reality, but it is a reality begotten by a legacy of slavery and Jim Crow. If there are blacks who hate whites, it is because there were first whites who hated blacks. As the title of a 1960s television broadcast on The Nation of Islam put it, black animus toward whites is “the hate that hate produced.”
Reply: As scholars black, white, and other have repeatedly demonstrated, the dysfunction that marks the black underclass today was either non-existent or far less pronounced in years past—i.e. at times not as far removed from slavery and during which racial discrimination against blacks was both more ubiquitous and more overt.
This consideration aside, if the proponents of this objection were made to say aloud the implications of their position, the shame and ridicule that it invites just might force them to abandon it.
According to this line of reasoning, the following victims of black-on-white violence would still be alive and unharmed had it not been for a history of racial oppression:
-Jeffrey Babbitt;
-Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom, a young white couple that had been abducted, repeatedly raped, tortured, and murdered by five blacks;
-Brad Heyka, Jason Befort, Aaron Sander, and Heather Muller, four whites who were robbed, beaten, sexual humiliated, raped, and murdered by two black brothers;
-Kristen Huggins, a 22-year-old college graduate and aspiring artist who was carjacked, sodomized, robbed, and killed by a bullet to her head fired by a black career criminal;
-Antonio Santiago, a 17-month-old baby shot dead in the face by two black thugs;
-Jonathan Foster, a 12-year-old white boy taken from his home and killed by a blowtorch wielding black woman;
-Delbert Benton, an 89-year-old WWII veteran beaten to death by two black teenagers; and
-Fannie Gumbinger, a 99-year-old woman beaten to death by a 20-year-old black man who burglarized her home.
It is with the greatest of ease that to this list, scores of other names could be added. But the point is this: If “the legacy of slavery and discrimination” argument is to be believed, then we are expected to believe that in the absence of this “legacy,” legions of innocent white children, white women, and the elderly who have been brutalized by black thugs would be with us today.
Objection #3: The race of the perpetrators and victims of these horrible crimes is irrelevant.
Reply: If this is true, then so too is race irrelevant while discussing America’s past. After all, if it is slavery that is immoral, then the races of master and slave are immaterial. And if it is immoral to segregate people along the lines of race, then it is irrelevant whether the segregationists are white or non-white.
There is no point mentioning that the Ku Klux Klan consisted of white supremacists who sought to torment blacks. Deserving of condemnation is not white supremacy, but any sort of supremacy, not the tormenting of blacks, but the tormenting of anyone.
But if race is relevant to discussions of American slavery and segregation, then it most certainly is relevant to speak of race in connection with most interracial violence in America at present.
And it most certainly is mandatory that all morally committed people start assigning this issue the priority that it deserves.
This is good but more is needed. White people need to get plum mad dog angry, because they are getting punished for things they had nothing do with. Old injustices, real or percieved.
White folks don’t have the same solidarity black folks have. You resist a black kicking your butt, more will join in and they don’t even know the first assailant.
When whites have that kind of solidarity and the will to defend themselves, (we already have the means many times over) then the cross race violence will stop.
I carry a pistol openly every day and never been assaulted by a white. Plenty of black folks though.

Best strategy remains: carry the tools of liberty.

It works. I don’t think it works as well, but it works.
Here is something else to keep in mind about that statistic.
There is this nastly little booger in law called the “Suspended Imposition of Sentence”. It is NOT a conviction; which is why so many chitheads and their accompanying chithead attorneys seek it out.
It greases the skids of justice, pun intended, and gets the badguy back out on the street to commit more crime, which in turn keeps all levels of the legal (not justice) system gainfully employed.
I have personally seen records where suspects have been arrested and charged for double digit violent felonies and are still walking the street.

They need to sue. That sort of thing happens (rarely) in VA. The cost to a city for false arrest over a gun carry issue is about $10K.

Freaking out the sheep is a myth. I speak from personal experience. Most people don’t notice (!?) and the bulk of those who do notice just assume you’re a cop.

No, this is not really the case. Its not just a few “one percenters” who make it look bad for all blacks. Most all black persons have a disrespect for the law, personal property, and the structures of our country. That is why they are cheating on welfare, tossing trash on the ground, dressing like idiots, and refusing to give the police the time of day even when they witness a crime against one of their own. Their little kids five years old will show you who they are by their actions which I see every day. Punching their siblings like they were a punching bag, cursing as loud as they can scream, damaging everything in sight. The black culture is a rejection of civil society. Please tune in to Rachael Jeantel to know who black people are. Look at the contents of Trayvon’s cell phone to learn what they value.
The vast majority of black persons are cynical, racist and disaffected to the point where it is a safe assumption that a black person is likely committed or committing a crime. It may not be a violent crime. While Americans of West African origin are genetically violent people, they are not all violent, but they are mostly disrespectful of the law.

One man’s terrorist group is another man’s Freedom Fighters. I’m not advocating any person join that organization, but I am advocating whites stand up for themselves once more. What is needed is group cohesion and the attitude that an attack on one is an attack on ALL. We have allowed discrimination against us in schooling and jobs, we have allowed our government to be taken from us, we have allowed a Third World invasion which will destroy us all and now whites are starting to die in order that blacks find amusement. We need to practice a little old fashioned exclusion again. Exclusionary policies are not nice but we would be left alone in peace to do our job and rebuild America.

A call for “white solidarity” will usually fail, but for an odd reason, that it violates the unwritten “gentleman’s code”. This even predates Common Law, and is based in the ideas found among the Germanic tribes.
Unlike the ideas found within Roman Law, the law of the elites and the peasants (or hoi polloi, as the Greeks called them), the law of the Germanic tribes was singularly egalitarian. That is, all warriors are equal.
From them, we get things such as trial by a jury of peers, innocence before guilt, advocacy before an impartial judge, and that leaders are leaders only by the voluntary support of the warriors they lead.
This formed the basis of Common Law, and has been enriched several times in history, through the British empire and to America. Today, even statutory law pales before “gentleman’s code”, practiced by the honest and honorable citizenry.
And that is why there is no “white solidarity”. Because a gentleman of honor can be of any color, race, sex, age, etc. What distinguishes them is not who they are, but how they behave.
They are just as inclined to interfere in an unfair fight no matter who is being oppressed. They will go so far as to even risk their lives, based in the ethics of a gentleman.
But it is usually individual action, because if it ever becomes group action, it is vigilantism, which gets an unfair rap. Vigilantism is almost entirely non-violent. But when forced to be violent it is ferocious and unforgiving.

Not so much; even in my small town America suburb, we have folks who aren’t comfortable with it. And yes, whike it ISN’T my job to make someone else comfortable, I’d rather be able to bring someone NEW into the fold, so to speak than have them just turn off the switch immediately.

No big deal, brother. We’re just approaching the same thing from a different perspective. I just prefer to have an element of surprise if necessary. However, there IS something to be said for the deterrent element of the bad guy seeing that you are armed - and going elsewhere, so I do see your point.

TX law is similar to laws in other carry states. I’m not crazy about the one in TN either, although it does allow open carry. I will not though, ever apply for a carry permit in any state.

And if you get caught, you go to jail. That may not bother you. Most of us prefer to avoid it. Enjoy your racial harmony in jail...

Virtually no law-abiding whites have a sense of solidarity for white gangsters, murderers, robbers, or rapists solely because they are white. When you or I see a white gangster, killer, or rapist, we're more than happy to see them locked away for life or executed.
In contrast, the overwhelming majority of blacks, including many middle class, law abiding ones, have a sense of solidarity and "brotherhood" with the thugs. Blacks had overwhelming sympathy and support for the thuggish Travyon Martin and were elated when OJ Simpson was found not guilty. Even those who are disgusted by black on black crime still think it's a lower priority than sticking it to "the man."
Furthermore, thuggish behavior and criminality is a fringe phenomenon among whites. It has become an ingrained part of black American culture, which glorifies and revels in thuggery.
Therefore, the argument "there are white thugs too" really doesn't carry much weight.
