Appearing on ABC News’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” on Sunday, President Barack Obama said he had 80 to 90 percent of the country agreeing with him in favor of gun control, but the he could not get gun-control legislation enacted because of a “faction of the Republican Party.”
Obama made the observation about the supermajority of Americans he believes favor “gun control” when Stephanopoulos asked him why the issues he had chosen to focus on at the beginning of his second term seem to have stalled. …

He wants to pretend that one small section like tighter controls on those with mental illness buying guns applies to complete disarmament of the entire population. The problem is that implementing that section would require the shattering of any pretense of doctor/patient confidentiality or secrecy of medical records which I don’t think most people would be willing to agree to when presented openly.
It was some very general question about universal background checks as opposed to the bill on the floor, which was probably dishonestly selected (those surveyed), then dishonestly counted, and then dishonestly quoted. Or maybe they just asked all hundred guys The Won’s slept with, and 80-90 of them were in favor.
They get this garbage from talking to their fishbowl pals and friends in the media and then they thinks it's true.
