A Texas high school is using a textbook that changes the wording of the Second Amendment to weaken gun rights.
The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
But at Guyer High School in Denton, Texas, an Advanced Placement U.S. History textbook has rewritten the Second Amendment as: The people have a right to keep and bear arms in a state militia.
The AP version of the Second Amendment may be easier for students to remember, but its text appears to weaken the protections afforded to gun owners in the Bill of Rights.
The textbooks version implies that only state-sanctioned police or military forces are allowed to carry a gun, which is neither correct, nor the intention of the founders, according to Rare, a conservative website.
The wording of other amendments is also changed. The textbook says that the First Amendment prohibits Congress from favoring one religion over another, when in fact it says that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
An article on The Daily Paul asked conservative parents to demand answers from the school districts board of trustees.
The trustees of Denton Independent School District did not respond to requests for comment.
The textbook has received highly negative reviews on Amazon.com.
Common Core. Developed by terrorist bomber Bill Ayers.
Is the name of the textbook “American Pageant”?
Never mind! I found the answer.
It is not.
WE must fight this crap
luckily there are many conservatives around here who will jump all over that
Just an oversight, I’m sure.
The constitution means nothing to leftists (other than an obstruction) and most people in this country are more concerned with Monday Night Football than with God given rights. The only thing that surprises me is that this technique is not tried more often.
I can see this in Minnesota. BUT TEXAS?!?
translation.....the Constitution doesnt require!!!
an INTERPRETIVE version...doth Not Belongeth in a Textbook
"United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination (Paperback) Unknown Binding
by John J. Newman (Author)"
Which leads me to wonder what exactly is being asked on the advanced placement exam.
The 5 stars were probably the author’s family and friends, mother, father, grandparents, etc...
Denton Texas? anyone have any insider info on the place?
I am going to read the “positive” reviews. Should be interesting.
Have fun adding your own reviews.

Book burning is in order
When I was in college, one of my textbooks said something similar except perhaps even worse. I pointed out to my professor that I disagreed with the textbook.
To my surprise, he agreed with me but said it was one of those things he didn’t want to get into in the class.
Now that the Supreme Court has made a decision that it is an individual right, a lot of old textbooks will have to be changed. At least they should be.
You’d be surprised, or maybe not, at how many times I found lies, cough, errors, cough in Texas approved history books throughout the years.
Here is another.
From the review, it looks like a bunch of brainwashed students who had no choice gave it a thumbs up.
Gota post the link:
Dumbing down the Constitution, because all our children are brighter and more hard-working than average...you can tell because they all take the AP...
