Reid Statement On Republicans’ Vote To Deny Nutrition Assistance To Hungry Americans
United States Senate Democrats ^ | Sep 19, 2013 | Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

Posted on 09/19/2013 4:17:37 PM PDT by mdittmar

Washington, DC – Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today:

“House Republicans’ vote to deny nutrition assistance to hungry, low-income Americans is shameful. The Senate will never pass such hateful, punitive legislation.

“Under the leadership of Chairwoman Stabenow, the Senate forged a bipartisan compromise that saves $23 billion without taking food out of the mouths of hungry Americans. Whenever the House gets serious about passing real legislation, they should follow the lead set by Chairwoman Stabenow.”

Doesn’t spending legislation have to originate in the House?

If hungry Americans want me to pay for their food, they should at least have the decency to steal my money by sticking a knife in my ribs themselves, instead of trying to sanitize it by voting the job to some petty bureaucrat.

They aren’t necessarily “hungry”...they are hungry for your money.

Some states are setting up mandatory drug testing for welfare recipients.

Stories about EBT cards being used to buy lobsters for the DO
GS owned by welfare recipients are enough to make anyone’s blood boil. The fraud in the current system is rampant. How many people are getting food stamp assistance at the same time their kids are getting free school lunches? Double dipping, IMO.

I feed my animals well, but no one in this house has come near a lobster in over 35 years.

And this is why Reid won't pass a budget in the Senate. He is avoiding having propaganda like this being directed at Democrats by refusing to get the Democrats on the record for anything.

Republicans in the House are doing their Constitutional duty by voting on bills. Reid is using that as a weapon against the Republicans.

If 400,000 people die from obesity each year, and 400 die of hunger, they haven’t cut nearly enough.

Do these idiots ever go to a Super Walmart and see exactly how “hungry” those who get “Nutrition Assistance” actually look?

Hey harry, go f yourself pal; I am not seeing donations blossoming from your hard and greedily earned accounts. Here or the hidden ones abroad.

7 million taken in Baltimore food stamp fraud

.... Of the 10 business owners named in the indictment, the biggest offender was Abdullah Aljardi who is accused of siphoning off $2 million in benefits over the course of three years.

Now here’s the really funny thing: the name of this guy’s store is The Second Obama Express. Were investigators really that surprised that a store bearing our president’s name was involved in theft and fraud?

Ol’ Dingy’s been having dementia again.

They really need to put one of those homing beacons on him. Old folks out in Nevada have been known to wander off into the desert and not be seen again.
