U.S. military personnel will face a disruption in pay if Congress doesn’t quickly pass a budget and raise the debt ceiling, President Barack Obama warned in his weekly address Saturday.
“The government will shut down. So will many services the American people will expect,” Obama said, speaking of the consequences he says the country will suffer if Congress can’t come to an agreement on a continuing resolution bill. “Military personnel, including those deployed overseas, won’t get their paychecks on time.”
On Friday, the House stripped funding for the president’s landmark healthcare law from a continuing resolution bill to fund the government. If Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid reinserts the funding when the bill reaches the Senate, which he most likely will, some Republicans have threatened filibuster it.

If the Government is shut down, then we obviously can’t pay the Secret Service, or the White House Staff, and they will all be sent home.

In the 90’s the government “shut down” for 21 days. My father was a civil service employee back then. My grandmother and several aunts were on social security.
NOTHING HAPPENED. NONE of the social security was delayed. ONE of Dad’s checks was slow. ALL back payments were made very quickly. I called Dad to ask if he needed some bridge money and he appreciated the offer but laughed.
The Corps power plants kept running, the locks kept going, the dam kept controlling flood water... NOTHING HAPPENED.
If anything happens this time it is because the pencil necked geek, queer bastard obama wants it to happen.
ObamaCare is the end game. If it gets fully implimented then conservatism is dead as a political force in our country. Pelosi was willing to let dozens of democrats in the House lose their seats to get it passed. Obama will sacrifice whatever he has to for it to get implimented.
We are not a third world banana republic. Our military will not revolt. And Obama knows it.
This military member would be proud to get his pay check days or even weeks late if it got rid of Obamadoesn’tcare.

Even if the military pay gets stopped and that vast organizations grinds to a whimpering halt, I’ll bet the EBT cards continue to get filled and work just fine.
Just like with the sequester. It will normally not hurt anyone, but bitter Obama directs cuts with the intent to hurt, even though they are unnecessary.
The concept there is important to get out to people: that Obama wants to, and does, *hurt* Americans so that he can win a political fight.
Ask them, have you ever heard of any president willing to hurt Americans for petty political goals?

Nah, they'll waive that and pay those guys. I know a few people who were not affected by the sequester. They were deemed too important. They are the surveillance guys.
Yea, all 50 of them. They are not as numerous as the media claims. There's a few we are positive are flamers but so far they have kept to themselves.
